That's what I mean like it's still not as great today but then obviously have you seen some of those horrible movies that anime is trying to create like when if you look at them and then look at Tekken 3 they like how you know what I mean like this was made on like hardware from years and if you see somebody's movie that come out your thinking why do they look a worse

“As soon as you stop fighting the computer like it’s a human, then you start winning.” Sadly... this is true. I was recently streaming the arcade modes for all the new MK11 characters and as soon as I got to the Kronika fight, I had to ask “alright, what kind of cheese am I going to use to easily kill her?” because that’s how fighting game AI and especially boss AI works.

Still glad to have my copy, and the iconic console still in use today. Been back to playing Tekken once again, all throughout this week already and the nostalgia is bringing back so many memories. Honestly was a great way to end the month of August, getting back into this. Happy to see people still play it, as well. Great Characters, Audio, Storyline, and graphics for it's time. PS1, were talking about a console from the early 90's whose games still hold up today. That is amazing! And that's coming from a Dreamcast fanatic. Therefore playing PS1 was like playing video games that were 30 years ahead of their time. And it really did feel that way, this is one instance where the hype was real. Keep in mind that on the big screen, the games looked much better than on youtube.

That's absolutely not true with the making Virtua Fighter "uncool". What happened was that due to the failure of the Sega Saturn outside Japan, Sega's first party IPs in the consumer market were affected as a result. Also, and a BIG also, Arcade peaked in the United States in 1994 and when Virtua Fighter 3 was announced and then released in 1996 Arcade, Sega wanted over $10,000 for it, which by then most arcades refused to pay up. So while VF was a continued meteoric rise in JP, the momentum was paused and stop here. VF3 finally came out in 1998/1999 on Dreamcast but by then Soul Calibur on it happened. Basically Tekken benefited MUCH more from the PlayStation platform then the other way around. Tekken 6 is proof of that. Tekken 6 was Tekken's meteoric moment in Japan but ironically like Arcade Model 3 VF3 here, Namco wanted over $10,000 for which most arcades here refused. Made worse when Tekken 6 went Xbox and the media was doing its hit job on every Japanese game. Shooters are 1 -10 all NPD best sellers on Xbox 360, greatly diminishing the fighting genre. Namco took a while here, PlayStation 4 made it right and here we are with Tekken 7.

Fun fact for those who don't know yet, Forest Law's grunts at 10:40 was voiced by Katsuhiro Harada himself! He also did Marshall's from the first Tekken game until Tekken 5.

And Yoshimitsu until Tekken 4 The thing about the Law family grunts is yes, both Marshall and Forest were voiced by Harada, however Forest's grunts have been reused by Marshall for Tekken 4 and 5. Tekken 6 completely revamped Marshall, and gone were the Harada grunts.

So many childhood memories I have with Tekken 3. This was the fighting game I played nonstop. Aside from Soul Calibur 2, I didn’t want to play any other game at that time. As a kid, Nina was my main and favorite character to use. I use to practice in her stage just to listen to her theme, which is still one of my favorite tracks in the entirety of the series.

Story Time: I'm not great at fighting games, probably just ok. But I would beat my friend Matt in just about every fighting game we ever played. Then one day he goes "Hey I used to be really good at Tekken 3, let's go." Now i had never played Tekken 3 at this point but played others in the series so I figured: "Yeah, I'll whoop dat ass again." WRONG. I was given a legendary stomping. Not a single win. Loss was my only companion that day. My ass was handed to me on a golden, jewel covered platter with a note that said "You done fucked up, see you next year when you wake up from that coma I put you in" signed in my own blood by Yoshimitsu. Shit was wild.

This game was my LIFE growing up and so many quarters spent in the arcades. So damn good... Here’s hoping Tekken 8 on next Gen brings this formula to 8. Tekken 3 was super ahead of its time. King and Yoshimitsu’s combo chain just annihilated Ogre at the end.

Literal game changer. Such a great game that that it firmly cemented Tekken as a big league franchise to be mentioned in the same breath as Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. I must've shredded my way through the story mode so many times with Hwoarang's one-button combo. It was unbeatable cheese.

Tekken 3 was such a masterpiece, when i was kid barely could see the difference with the arcade version and the extras like the adventure mode were so much fun, definitively the peak of fighting games on the PS1 I like to see Max playing other games like SF Alpha 3 or Samurai Shodown warriors rage

It might just be nostalgia talking but... I've put hours into Tekken 6, 5, TT, TT2, and If I had to pick ONE to play forever it'd be Tekken 3. That soundtrack is just *godly* along with streamlining the fantastic combo system as well as overhauling the physics which just makes it easy to pick up due to the smaller combo pool but damn it was still hard as nails to pull off them 10-hit combos and so on. Miss the days of spending hours with my brother practicing how to pull off Jin and Kazuya's combo, going 1v1 and he'd kick my ass with that BS eddie but I loved every single minute of it.

I still remember that opening playing on loop on the cab at the movie theater. I was going through my childhood desk a few years back and found some old drawings. I thought one was some DBZ thing until I noticed the dots on the back of his hands and realized it was a Tekken drawing. Sometimes I forget how ubiquitous T3 was at a point.
