I am normally cant agree with the wing t cause its too tight and not spread out anough but if u have 2 great rbs u can run this out of like a empty spread set or the shotgun spread and mix it in it would have alot of success since u still can pass this would work great if u used it with like the eagles with mccoy and sproles

Coach, I was an under center wing t team for years and agree it is to tight. We looked at shotgun but putting the QB at 5yds with FB next to him, we lost the downhill running attack that we loved. So under center is great run, bad pass....shotgun is great pass, bad run. The PISTOL was the perfect compromise. We also could have 3 RB on the field at all times and win with 5'6" to 5'10" QB, which we get every year. Our school always has 4-5 RB and 1-2 receivers. We always have 180-220lb linemen, so wing t angle blocking works best. Granted, once every couple of years we get a 250+ lineman and a 6'2" QB...but I don't want to win every couple of years. I want to win every year with whatever personell I have. My Pistol Wing T system allows you to adapt to personell without changing the offense. One year we passed for 2,700 yards, the next year we had two 1,000 yard rushers.

We love that play and have our QB read the End, who we leave unblocked. If end chases the Jet, QB pulls it and runs into the c-gap with FB as lead blocker.

Pistol allows us to do all the 2x2 pass concepts. The FB being at 5yds behind the QB allows us to run every Wing T, midline, and veer. And we now let our QB read unblocked defenders on every run play. If he can make these reads the defense is always wrong
