Yep. I appreciated it immediately and there was some tailoring to make it more flattering because the stars beneath the arms gave it more shape than a traditional form. It does show that picking a non-traditionally-Western silhouette can throw the judges so contestants need to be aware. That doesn't mean that I think they shouldn't wear such clothing as I think *more* queens should challenge and educate via their looks but, sadly, they may be putting themselves 'at risk' because the judges don't understand the references.

My mother told me when driving focus on the spot you want to get to, not the spot you want to avoid. You'll only end up running into it if you focus on it so much. This is what happened here. She was she focused on not messing up, she was practically preparing to be in the bottom. This was a great example of the inner saboteur. She started off with a bang because she has IT. Panda JT Widows looks have by far and between been the worst in YEARS, and she’s not really a performer? She maybe would have been killer on anything before season 7/before the majority of contestants drag got more expensive and conceptual. The foundation of most of her looks (the ball gown, the Frozen look) are literal downton abbey peasant frocks. For her Frozen look she took a frock, threw an inflatable from the untucked room on, and glued some cardboard semen on her face. I was S H O C K E D I say when no one read her for that. For the product marketing challenge she wore a Ross discount black top with a black skirt - I literally took a pic and sent it to my mom because she has the EXACT same outfit. And she works for the government.

I really do think she overprepared for this. I really felt like she wanted to take some of the runway looks and do something different. But because of that, her runways lost the main theme to them. Episode 3: Buttons and Bows. Only had Buttons and barely a visible Pussy Bow. Episode 4: The Balls on the dress were more of an applique instead of an incorporation to the look. That dress could just have been just as nice without the balls. Episode 6: The Eleganza wasn't really all that elegant because it was an Ice Cream man uniform. Cute but not elegant. Episode 7: Her Michelle was servicable but not iconic enough for anyone to get. Episode 8: Not a typical sillhouette of a wedding dress that people would be familiar with. It may have been inspired by a vintage wedding dress but it just doesnt seem to be gag worthy enough to have been passable. Episode 9: There wasnt really a single stripe or star that I saw. Conceptually yes it was okay but her Promo look could have fit better to this theme. All in all, I think Gigi really tried to think so much in a different way that she strayed too far from the actual challenge and was too committed to her own idea. And her ideas are also too much of a reference that it got costumy and not really her. Like she was a girl scout, ice cream man, and now a soldier back in the day. There was nothing that elevated to her looks as more than what it actually is. This is what made Aquaria's runways work more because we get to see her own ideas that also serve as the theme for the challenge. I love Gigi so much but she's given too much credit for stuff that she needs to improve on and its frustrating to see. I honestly loved the sillhouettes she does for her quick drag more than what she does for her actual runways. Like that cat costume was goregeous and beautiful. Now that was fashion. But everything else was just servicable and I'm getting sad about seeing her just being fine at a part of the show she claims she's supposed to excel at. I'm speaking as a fan of Gigi before she was even on the show. Home girl needs some recognition that is deserved instead of the ones that are just handed out to her.

Agree with everything you say, but just a lil note, the runway theme the queens are given to prepare for sometimes differs from what Ru announces on the runway. The theme was likely closer to patriotic drag or something as Nikki on Instagram has a look which has no stars or stripes, but is a French patriotic look. The frozen eleganza runway probably had a slightly different theme given, hence some seemingly unusual choices from Widow, Gigi and Heidi ❤

@@SpoopyBirbBuddy49 Ok but think about it, if Bob and Detox are saying they thought you were on top, imagine how crushed Widow was feeling when the judges just dlipped it and said she was the worst. I'd be crushed and defeated too. Because she's giving quality and her look on the runway was iconic, but there's not denying she got harsher critiques that would have already put her in the bottom.

I was saying it in terms of what ru and the judges were probably thinking to put widow in the bottom. cause personally while probably not my favorite performance (mine hands down was Jaida) widow was pretty solid imo

O V H i find it a little sick that it was ru himself who psyched widow out last episode and then set off this narrative that she has been cruising by since ep 1 (which is false). He said such manipulative things and the producers were all too happy to push the narrative and push Widow out

This season is frustrating me, I live for Gigi but the favoritism is crazy, she's obviously gonna win no matter what she does because this is the second time she really deserved to be in the bottom, they're always stretching to pull someone down below her. I'm just saying. I agree, Widow did not do the worst.
