You climb the Scottish mountains and your soul is enriched forever.

I've got tears rolling down my face as I drink my whisky. And it's a Tuesday evening. And I've got work in the morning. But this film kept me going. It's truly inspiring to watch this. Alasla, Katerkorm, Alps, etc are amazing. Scotland has its place. x

I had the privilege to climb in Scotland in 2012 as part of the BMC's Winter meet, and this film does a fine job of capturing the essence of that experience. The host climbers, including Greg Boswell, were magnificent hosts, and simply outstanding people all around. Nothing depicted in this film is an exaggeration! Kudos to RAB and the film makers and my thanks for letting me revisit what was truly the highlight of my forty plus years of climbing, and perfectly captured in the line, "...memories of this kind are etched into your soul, and fill your heart to bursting."

I just climbed the mighty Buachaille in my Rab gear. As a passionate Scot this video really impressed me. It’s also interesting to read about your founder being from here. I’m new into the mountains, and on buachaille only bagged my third and fourth Munro. But now I’m hooked, on the mountains and the brand.

Lovely to see Myrtle Simpson but sad to know she lost Hugh, her beloved partner and fellow adventurer of 60 years, later in 2020. Climbed in New Zealand as well. If this had been shot in Feb 2021 (Covid permitting) with minus 23ºC & 70cm snow being recorded then....probably would have been snowed in and socially distancing!! Nice wee vid Rab. I think when this was filmed I was in the Cairngorms around the same time, maybe with a wee bit less snow. Nearly welled up thinking about the fun we had just learning the basics of winter mountaineering I couldn't wait to get back in 2021 and climb a face of rock and ice. I can't wait to make more memories like those.

Wonderful storytelling. I just wished the montage of smiling faces at the end had at least 1 person that looked like me. Brown Skin, Black hair. I too love the Highlands and have hiked much of it. #DiversityInTheOutdoors

Well there wasn't, does anytime a group of people want to do something they need to go and find a black guy to bring along with them smh make your own film and add whatever faces you want at the end. If you were with them your face would have been at the end.

@@neelmistry Great, I'd love to see it, this stigma isn't just held by white people it's also held by the black people too, possibly more so it would be good if you get your own group together and get out there and start blogging or make a short film about it, it could be you and anyone you like, forget about everything else do what comes naturally and be creative and it will show. I honestly wish you all the best and will hold you to this so expect me back year after year.

Yea, I know what you mean about hardship in the mountains I split a tip on my v4 projie yesterday and got a sunburn. Ouch. lol. Otherwise, great video but I wish that dude in the skirt would stop squeezing that poor cat between segments. Maybe try some oldies like Eminem? I think he's a Scottish lad.
@jamesyboy46263 жыл бұрын
Supposedly true about Em, was shocked to hear that and that battle rap began in Scotland, it was probably something like poetry slam but, battle rap was born from it.

This film is the biggest load of guff out there. There is nothing Gàidhealach about it, Spud is no great piper, and the narrative is twee rubbish.
@gdoldays9964 Жыл бұрын
I'm Scottish, born & bred. And I enjoy the great outdoors and especially the gift of winter climbing. I found 85% of this film was so cringe, and hard to watch. Like it was put together by those fake Scottish folk that greet tourists off the ships... If only your film making was as great as your gear, you'd be winning Oscars.

“Simil soloing” is the most obnoxious term I’ve ever heard for hiking.

To be fair Curved Ridge is a Mod so to describe it as soloing at least makes some sense. Some teams definitely rope up in places

Good riddance then, there's no opposition, we'll never vote Tory and the Labour party stabbed us in the back and paid the price. I've only noticed improvement anyway since SNP took control.
