Actuaully, warthog sounders only consist of related adult females and their piglets, and led by the oldest female. Males get chased of when they are 2 years old. They will usually make their territories close to that of a sounder, but they can't join it, since the females will only tolerate them during the mating season.

Hyenas live in a female-dominated society, and they usually hunt in very large groups. From what I know males don't often hunt in packs of 2, if they aren't part of a pack then they will be solitary hunters. Also, on the Wild dogs, their packs are bottom-up, meaning that the weaker members would eat first rather than the pack leader. And the pack leader likely wouldn't be absent during the hunt. I could very well be wrong, so correct me if I am. I'm all ears.
