I’d be interested in the soil preparation. Also, in the Ouldorf gardens I’ve seen he was given completely open situations. That’s a very big help.

Hello Roy. Thanks for this interesting videos much appreciated. In a part of the video you talk about sporobolus and monarda and the way you solve the fact that monarda will outshadow a bit the sporobolus. Probably this comes with experience or working in a nursery however I’d like to ask you if there are any other sources that explain the growth and spread speed of perennials. Kind regards Mauro

Thanks so much for sharing this process with us -I’ve loved the look and the theory behind Piet’s gardens for years but had no idea of the installation process. The idea of building on top of the existing soil with gravel solves so many questions for me.

@@RoyDiblikHey Roy, amazing to get to know about you and your knowledge sharing via a recent post from Piet. What I'm always fascinatzd about is the varying soil preparation techniques. Which do you prefer? I know gravel has been used a lot but this looks more like an old wood mulch? Would be really nice to see an episode on how to get your soil plant ready for varying type of planting styles (prairie, wood land,...). Much appreciated any feedback 🙏👌

This is wonderful, Roy. Thank you so much for sharing! It looks as though the beds had been mulched prior to painting in the design. Is that correct? If so, how did you handle the planting with mulch already in place? I haven’t been involved with a project of this scale and I’m just very curious about the process. Thanks again!

Why not just scrape away the mulch and plant? That's all I do.

Yes! The plant list is available at the website for this project...here's the link: oudolfgardendetroit.org/about/plant-list/

Hi Roy! Thanks for sharing this video. How many folks did you have helping to plant the 23,000 plants? I’m trying to create a prairie look in my garden and Piet’s garden designs have been a big inspiration to me. Do you sell these plants at your nursery?
@RoyDiblik4 жыл бұрын
About a dozen or so all contributed to the planting process. We carry many of the plants on the plant list but not all...you can see many of our Northwind grown perennials on our website: www.northwindperennialfarm.com

Do you ship plants here in the US??
@RoyDiblik3 жыл бұрын
I'm sry to say we don't. There are lots of mail order place online tho - I like High Country Gardens and White Flower Farm among many others. I also suggest getting to know your local nursery and letting them know what you're looking for - local nurseries are usually very responsive to requests.
