if we are talking taking building to a new level in chapter 1, I think hamlinz deserves an honourable mention he was the first player I seen popularise using cones when build fighting, there might have been someone that done it before him but I believe he was the one who made it mainstream

I feel like Hamlinz was more for the hardcore players/fans/sweats of the game. I think most casuals wouldn't even know who he was. He already had 2 bigger creators in TSM. When you are talking about influence, it's usually about the biggest names. Therefore I feel like Ninja, Myth, Tfue, Mongraal are all deservedly so above him. You could make the same argument for that liquid team back then, in Chap, Poach, Vivid and 72hrs. I remember in like season 4 (before playground) they were like the first to just que in the same games and do 1v1's. Their building was on an incredible level, so much so that even Myth in his best time couldn't beat them. Same with MrSavage. In my opinion, he was miles better than Mongraal. He placed better in tournaments and had a lot of smart tips and tricks that lot of players started using. But once again, it's the HUGE names that have the most influence.

Great video Aussie. I think some other people who deserve credit as well in ch1 are daequan and hamlinz for popularizing double pump, using cones in build fights, and overall just their major contributions to the rise of building. Also symfuhny for showing the power of editing, and the liquid boys for first using the prototypical competitive playstyle that is still important to this day.

Qrei for sure as of Chapter 2. He surely has way bigger impact than you might assume at first. Its not just a healoff strat, its about playing the game in the smartest way possible, abusing the game's mechanics and items as efficient as possible and finding crazy strats Because of him and the healoff strats following because of him, there were actually around 25 changes to the game. A big one of them as an example: storm sickness
