I remember Cloke in 2002, the next week's footy show Eddie got him on the stage and tried to pled his case. Disgusting that it was allowed to happen, if it was a player from another team it would have never happened.

I was a 17 year-old Collingwood fan convinced that Cloke's action was a genuine spoil attempt and that he shouldn't have been suspended... I now see I was deluded.

Matthew Egan suffered a career ending injury in the final home and away round of 2007 after being named in that season's All-Australian team. He probably ended up missing more than just Geelong's 2007 premiership.

Showing my age I know but in 86 Bernie Evans ( Carl) got one week after getting reported in finals and so missed the GF. At least they lost - it was even worse the following year when Fraser Murphy also got a week and missed the premiership!!

Bernie Evans was suspended in 1987 Peter Motley had his life turned upside down earlier that year Steven O'Dwyer was suspended in 1988 Peter Curran was injured in 1988 Greg Dear was injured all season in 1991 David Hart got injured playing in the 1992 WAFL Grand Final, and lost his chance for 1992 Ron McKeown wasn't selected for 1990 Rod Austin was injured in both 81 and 82. Tony Buhagiar played in the 84 Prelim but wasn't selected for the Grand Final Merv Neagle I think was injured and missed 85... Mark Blake was dropped in 2007. Matthew Stokes and Josh Hunt were both injured in 2009 Happens almost every year. That's footy.

Doesn't anyone remember fabulous Phil Carmen. Got himself suspended for a crazy elbow to Tucks head when Collingwood had the game in the bag. Got two weeks suspension. Mist the 1977 Grand finale and the Grand finale replay. Cost Collingwood a premiership probably.
