Looks like a painting of Neuschwanstein Castle which was said to be Walt Disney inspiration. However if you go to Scotland they say Craigievar Castle was the inspiration. The special is a pink turreted castle looks exactly like Cinderella castle.

Nate, I LOVED your video!! I stayed at the Plaza in 2000. I won a great performer award at American Express. Stayed at the Plaza for one week, all expenses paid FABULOUS restaurants and a Broadway show. Ate lunch in Windows of the World Restaurant in the Twin Tower and Tavern on the Green. I will never forget this trip! I'm glad you had a wonderful time at the Plaza! WOO HOO!!🎉🥳😊👍

FAO Schwarz was originally across the street from the Plaza Hotel. I was there once. They also had a store in The Fashion Center in Paramus NJ. I was there a bunch of times. It was like going to a library. Quiet and hushed. The “Old Ladies” that worked there watched us like hawks. They were scary to my 12 year old self. Yes, back in those days Mom would shop and we explored. It was safe for kids. My parents would drop me and my brother off in the ”Toy Department” for quite a while knowing we’d behave and not open any toys. It was perfectly safe.

Great video! I have always wanted to go to FAO Schwartz. Sadly, the original one they actually filmed BIG in was the 5th Avenue/Central Park location and it closed several years ago. Thankfully, they built that new location a few years afterward so folks like us can still get a taste of the magic.

Great video! I’m from Bethlehem Pa and have been going to Disney World nearly every year since 1985. I used to go up to NYC on the Transbridge busses from Bethlehem almost every weekend as a kid with my parents. I’ve been to FAO Schwartz but it wasn’t at that location. It unfortunately was bought out by Toys R Us in 2009 and closed in 2015. It reopened at that location in 2019. I’ve heard that story about Walt Disney and the oak room. That castle is Neuschwanstein in Germany. I’ve been there as well! I love the first two Home Alones and would absolutely LOVE to do exactly what you did! 😄🥰
