This was fascinating to listen to, it makes me really wish all of us got more leisure in our lives, I’ve certainly always wished that.

I hope that some of the technology we've developed within the last 50 years can eventually be used to have us work a little less, because that hasn't really happened.

Hey man, how's it going? Hope you're good. By the way, KZbin used to show your videos on my homepage, but now it doesn't. I open them myself whenever I think of it.

I'm doing well, just trying to adjust to life after grad school. And I'm sorry to hear that KZbin is so weird sometimes, but thank you for always thinking of the channel and commenting.

Interesting topic, I will say that we all work (because living itself takes work IMO) whether we are getting paid well for it or not, and whether we can enjoy such enough- in order to be inspired enough is a whole other topic, IMO. Thanks for sharing and hope you are doing well enough, lol. Personally I know this world can be extremely brutal. Ps- If you have the time and would like to elaborate, I am curious to know about why it is you stated you really can't work via American laws? This sounds rather sad to me and would like to know more about why you say that? All the best, and thanks again. :)

I agree just living is already tough. Because the US doesn't have any sort of socialized healthcare lots of disabled people are forced into situations where unless they want to literally drown in medical debt they have to follow stringent income limitations in order to keep their government healthcare. It's the same thing for all the other "benefits" we're entitled to. The more benefits we claim, the less we're allowed to make. This would all be well and good if the income limits still allowed us to have a relatively comfortable life, but they don't. At the lowest end, we're only allowed to make a 1/3 of what it would take to live independently and comfortably if we want to keep our necessary health insurance and some benefits. It is essentially a form of socioeconomic alienation which keeps disabled people from fully integrating into society. I don't see it changing anytime soon, which is why I've always advocated for a route closer to that of self-sufficiency for the disabled community. However, realistically speaking, changing these laws and these rules is probably going to be the only way we can form that self-sufficient community. Aside from this channel and a few other writing projects, I'm trying to find ways to dedicate myself to changing this.

@@ACrownofFlowers Thanks for clarifying, I should have known what you meant because I've experienced and saw a family member get screwed over too because of "disability." In my case, I was on disability from a younger age and felt guilty sometimes to think I could actually handle working a few hours a week (I mean something is better than nothing, right?) But if worked it would be held against you as saying you are fine to work a little then you can work a lot and no longer need assistance. It's so stupid. :(

@@mariemerchel2508 yeah, stuff like that is exactly what I'm talking about. At least here in the US they don't even give you a grace period. So really it's not even worth it to work a little bit, since any gain that you make from the extra income and an increase in the SSI payment will probably be offset by the co-payments you have to pay in your healthcare or vice versa. It's a catch-22 type situation.

@@ACrownofFlowers You are so right, you reminded me how when after my car accident I tried going back to work and I had disability insurance through my job.. but because I was able to work for a few months after they said I did no longer qualify for it. So a big E for effort right?! lol.. And then of course there is the disability through the govt. that works the same way, it's all or nothing with them! :( So stupid!

@@mariemerchel2508 dang I'm sorry you had to go through that, but at least you know what I'm talking about now. It essentially makes it so that people that need help only ever have the illusion of becoming self-sufficient.
