Salute to you queen! FIRST...when we gonna get that 100K celebration? SECOND...I played drums in church growing up then for a church of 5,000....then a metal band (go figure) Recently I was called to Alabama from NYC to spend time with my mother and she died shortly after. Before she died she asked me to play the drums at her funeral. THANK YOU for sparking my practice months ago to not flop in that Alabama church. seems like the biggest understatement i've ever said. It isn't complex, actually. Pretty straightforward 4/4 groove with the backbeat interchanging between a rim shot and an accented flam on the snare plus a few syncopations on tom and in the hihat. The difficulty lies rather in keeping the pattern consistent. As the pocketqueen has pointed out in her introductory note.
