There was nothing like going out at the weekend and hearing these girls in a Disco, you just had to dance. Love them! Everyone of them had powerful voices but their blend was magical.

That acappella of "Yes We Can Can" at 0:43-0:53... loved it!!! Anita, June & Ruth still got it in 1990, and they aged very beautifully. R.I.P. June Pointer

June & Bonnie were my favorite ones. I think they were more closer to one another. And Ruth & Anita were more closer. June & Bonnie have both journeyed on.🌹🌹

Because of wikipedia and likes....the pioneering or ground breaking efforts of the these ladies have been diminished. They were one of the first black female artists to be placed in heavy rotation on MTV back in 1984; they were the second, behind Donna Summer, to have 3 videos played consecutively in heavy rotation. Wikipedia incorrectly claims that Whitney Houston was first (when the reality is she wasn't even close), her video for How Will I Know which was her first to be in rotation on MTV, and her first to be played in heavy rotation (january 1986) was the 20th video by a black female artist place in heavy rotation. The Pointer Sister's Jump was the 4th video place in heavy rotation in june 1984. The first was in august of 1983.

@Selnitz Yes, when I did my own research I found that Jada had pancreatic cancer of some kind. Cancer is weird. It's like a rogue gene that runs in families but only certain members become afflicted with it hence June and Jada.
