My absolute favorite rendition of Silent Night. I remember when this Christmas Special first appeared on PBS. My mom and I taped this song the following year (on VHS!!!) which allowed us to replay it often. My mother really enjoyed this selection along with all the other wonderful songs from the concert. Listening to Ruth sing here makes her vocal in Automatic even more impressive. Richard Perry, when he heard the demo of Automatic, asked "who's going to sing the low part"? Ruth responded "You kidding? I'll do it!" He obviously didn't know her range could go that deep.

I have appeal to PBS to release this onto DVD/CD. I, too wished the Pointer Sisters would have released a full Christmas and Gospel CD. I'm sure there Christmas CD would have sounded just like this song. This whole concert was the Best. We still have it on VHS....

@@OCRATHLETE This concert was my childhood. Every year my family and I used to play this concert until New Years on VHS tape. Memories, this was the best Christmas concert of the 90's. No other concert can compare. There needs to be an appeal to put it on DVD. This concert needs to be archived into to historical archives.

Anita Pointer has always been my favorite sister as she sang lead on my favorite 3 Pointer Sister songs,YES WE CAN CAN,HOW LONG (betcha' gotta chick on the side) Fairytale.........Bless You Miss Anita (i just finished your autobiography & truly injoyed it. I first heard of the Sisters on Betty Davis's 1st lp (RIP Miss Betty i was a true Fan) DM (Pgh,PA.)
