Pretty much every adaptation of "A Christmas Carol", with "Blackadder's Christmas Carol" at the top. And, every year I listen to whichever audiobook adaptation I can find

The hobo was a Christmas Ghost, obviously. It's an obscure and rare sub-type of ghost, but such ghosts exist. Strangely, they mostly exist to inspire Christmas spirit in those whose hearts are broken, or cynical, or troubled.

The unsung hero in this movie is Alan Silvestri. His score is tragically underrated

Disney's A Christmas Carol, with Jim Carey, is done in this type of animation, but it is more realistic. The little boy says things never work out for him. He lives on the wrong side of the track, as they said, because the poor lived on that side of the track due to being on the downwind side of the smoke from steam trains. Being poor he missed out many things he wished for.

Think they explain in a deleted scene, he’s the ghost of a homeless dude from the great depression era who was killed when the train passed under that tunnel.

@@VentureHolly I read somewhere a few years ago that he was the ghost of a girl, how he became that is another question. And it's better that he wasn't in the movie.

There’s a deleted scene where the engineers sing a song explaining the origins of the homeless dude ghost if you’re interested

My top 3 Christmas movies are the, 1947 "Miracle on 34th Street", 1951 "Scrooge A Christmas Carol" - colorized version, and this movie, the "Polar Express". The acting in the first 2 movies are top notch and the Polar Express is great because of how an animated movie captured the true feelings of Christmas spirit.

i haven't seen this movie in so long, but it came at the perfect time for me. at a time where i started to lose faith in the magic of life, i've kept asking for proof; some sort of sign that the magic is real. i've realized that i no longer need the physical evidence. as long as i believe, i know that magic is real, and it's right here in my heart. thanks for your wonderful reactions, and merry christmas to the both of you ♥️🎅🏼

Great choice! - I love this film, in fact it's one of 2 films that's played at my house every year at Christmas (the other being 'The Muppets Christmas Carol' - recommend it if you've not already seen it!) - such a great feel-good film that always fills 48 year old me with Christmas spirit and makes me feel like an excitable kid again!
