I have 3 Polar Express Engines, the Gold, Black and the new RED one. Gold one has never been out of the box because I couldn’t find in my storage bin. Found it today after moving to a second 10 by 20 and hope to get it on the rails at my club Christmas show. Beautiful engines.

Very cool! You can't beat Berks, no way, no how. The lead engine, though, looked almost magenta. Maybe it was just the light. Either way, it is still a gorgeous locomotive. An excellent video, as always. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Would we possibly get a detailed video on that Legacy Polar Express? I always wanted a O guage Polar Express and to see Lionel release a Legacy scale model made me wish I had the funds to get it (the only thing I dislike is the running numbers on the front face but I understand they made multiple Berkshire Legacy models with different road names)

Great video. I am stuck on which PE to get. My gut reaction was the red, blue, and then the traditional black. Oh, the complexity of what to do next! By the time I decide, I may only be able to get whatever is left. LOL. I would love some suggestions or your opinion. I understand It will only complicate my decision, but that is more than half the fun. However, I fear I am stuck in analysis paralysis and need a little kick. I have two ready-to-run sets and one S-Guage set; I just can't have too many, ya know. Merry Christmas!

I like model railing the same as the next guy and I love watching your videos! The one thing I find surprising though is model railroaders doesn't appear to show any interest in train simulation? I would think it would be a no brainer, not to replace the hobby but to complement it! You can simulate a trains operations realistic physics on large sections of a route with realistic scenery and controls. and if simulating dispatch operation is your thing, the sim Run 8 has a very good dispatcher simulation in a multiplayer environment! and most of all while still not cheap is still less then today's model railing and is much more realistic and versatile!

I wish I had some scale Polar Express Passenger Cars to go with my scale engine😏. Shame that the big brains at Lionel wouldn’t think of shipping those two items at the same time. I don’t think many scale passenger cars were made the last time. Went to a few shows and didn’t see them anywhere.

How did you manage to couple 2 1225s into a PE 1225 even though the PE 1225 has a 19th century pilot that doesn't have a coupler at the front!?!!?

Wow, lionel made that polar express steam locomotive look more like move pink the maroon from the picture in there catalog, I will for sure not buy that color of that polar express at all if I had the money to because I do not like the way the color turned out at all, sorry to say.
