Soccer mom here: I would find an indoor soccer and/or futsal league for them to do through the winter. The best thing you can do for them is keep their ball touch counts up during “off season”. Futsal is particularly cool because it focuses on footwork and passing strategy that helps them tremendously in the regular season. Also, get to googling quickly! Private lessons, find out when team tryouts are etc. I don’t doubt they are naturally good especially for the rec leagues they’ve been playing on but I think you aren’t quite aware of how intense soccer is in the US on the travel side and they are going to be behind when you realize all these kids started playing at 3 and have been in travel leagues since 6 and taking lessons etc. that are also naturally talented at it. It’s one of if not the fastest growing in popularity for youth sports. They’re going to have to catch up fast to make the teams.

You probably don’t want to hear this, but it’s the carpet that is making your allergies worse. Plus you still are dealing with the various outgassing of the materials used to build your house. All of the repair work has reintroduced more of those smells and allergens which will be worse when they install new carpet upstairs. An allergist will tell you that anyone who has allergies and especially those who also have Asthma should only have hardwood flooring or tile made of stone, porcelain, or other rock base. Area rugs are ok if you vacuum them a few times a week especially where you sleep and spend most of your time. Ruggable rugs are a great option for you because they can be washed in a washing machine and dried. The detergent used for cleaning carpet can trigger more problems especially if any mold grows due to it not drying quickly. You have been spending a lot of time outside and in different environments as well as bringing out decorations and things that have been in storage which can harbor higher levels of allergens which combined with everything else has made you hyper sensitive and you are reacting to everything. You can also develop new allergies overnight and your tolerance levels can also change drastically. Your cat allergy could have intensified over the time since you got Sadie. ( I wasn’t allergic to cats when we got our first cat, but over the next 4 years I developed a severe life threatening allergy to them which my husband’s family didn’t understand no matter how we explained it to them. They thought it would be okay to just put them in the basement or one of the bedrooms not realizing or understanding that they house was filled with cat dander and saliva and anything the cats touched was like a toxic trigger for my body and lungs. Because they had multiple cats in their house since they moved in back in 1968 the level of cat allergens were to the point that they would have to replace all of the furniture, rugs, curtains and basically everything and have the whole house sanitized and even then there was no guarantee that I wouldn’t still have an allergic reaction if I spent time in the house. It finally clicked for them when we came to visit them at Christmas and we stayed in a hotel and when they came to our room before going out to dinner I hugged them and I immediately started going into an anaphylactic reaction. I had already taken my multiple allergy medications and had used my daily and rescue inhalers and they had no affect in preventing the attack. I had to quickly take Benadryl, and use my nebulizer giving myself a double treatment and when it still wasn’t easing up I had to use my EPI pen. We had to carefully monitor my breathing, hives, and other symptoms repeating the nebulizer, inhaler, and extra allergy medications for the next 6 hours. Thankfully I didn’t have to go to the hospital because I had everything needed to treat my reaction because my allergy doctor had trained me what to do as soon as I had the first symptom and saw how my body was reacting. I checked in with him that night and again the next morning.) You might want to consider having your ductwork cleaned and install filters on each intake and outtake vents and get a higher quality filters for your heating and cooling system. It might be time to schedule an appointment with an allergist and have them test to see what you are allergic to now because it definitely changes throughout your life. Even though you didn’t have respiratory symptoms with the form of covid you caught it still could have affected your lungs and that is something your doctor or a respiratory specialist needs to check out because it can have lasting affects on your body and especially your lungs and how you breathe and lung function. I have severe allergies to almost everything outside and many inside as well as multiple food allergies. You know your body best and if things feel off definitely get checked out because they might need to change your medications and treatment plan. Praying for you and hopefully it gets better.🎄🤶🏻🎅🏻
