Great playing and demo! Question, did the polymath with covers fit into your Strandberg Prog without routing out the cavities?
@BKPickups3 жыл бұрын
Our humbuckers are a pretty standard size, as long as your guitar has fairly square corners on the cavities, our covered pickups should fit in just fine! Check our website for detailed dimensions, if you want to double check www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/upload/support/6_string_standard_spacing_b07d0bf.pdf

Not the type of music I play but I really like them. No matter how hot a pickup gets, if it doesn't have clear articulation, it's mud and worthless. This pickup has it! Sounds awesome!

@@BKPickups I should have mentioned, I have a set of mules in a PRS. Its one of the lower-end PRS's but it sounds fantastic! I love the Mules! I have the unpotted Mules. I own 5 Les Pauls, A V, Schecter Tele, Fender Delux Strat, Epiphone, and other assorted. I saw Mike Cahen playing Mules in a Paul and loved it! I'm due for another set in a Paul! lol And maybe I'll try some others. Thanks, guys!

@@BKPickups Sounds great :) One question: that solo from 0:40 onwards shows the "chunkyness" & compression while keeping the clarity within the singlecoil´ish area (to me it sounds like this can even be used for e.g. polyphia like stuff (normally rather vintage-sounding, low output, but highly compressed). This amazes me. Is this something that particulary the Polymath is capable of or would the SILO cover me here as well (i´m leaning towards ordering the SILO atm)? Thanks for a short reply!

I just ordered Silos and this comes out. Lol. I wondered how it compares to the silos? 🤔
@BKPickups3 жыл бұрын
The Polymath set definitely has a different attitude: It's lower in output in the bridge, so the sound is a little more controllable and creates less saturation, but the neck pickup is a little hotter on the Polymath so is a little more geared towards lead tones, with the lower output of the Silo neck giving you a clearer clean tone. So, the Silo set covers a wider output range beween bridge and neck, where both pickups in the Polymath set are firmly in the medium output area. Both sets are great for modern rock and metal tones, so I'm sure that you won't be disappointed!

I am having a VERY tough time choosing which pickups to buy. I have a Solar Duncan. Are these pickups as hot as the Solar’s? I feel like the nailbomb is too close to swap for but these are very intriguing.
@BKPickups2 жыл бұрын
The Polymath definitely has a little less output than something like the Duncan Solar, so if you really need that hotter feel, then, certainly, something with a standard Alnico V like the Nailbomb or a Silo would be great!
@mattelder42692 жыл бұрын
@@BKPickups Thabks! I feel like the nailbomb is too similar to the solar. I want something tighter. Maybe a dumb question but are the polymaths quieter because of the lower output? I want heavy sound but mainly clarity.

I play in the style of Mark Tremonti, Toska, and Karnivool, do you think the Polymath would be good for my SE Custom 24 or maybe something like the Cold Sweat or Silo?
@BKPickups2 жыл бұрын
For the light and dark dynamics of those bands, I would go for the Silos. The slightly lower output neck pickup really does give you a very wide range of tones and aggression levels.

How would you compare here to a set of silo pickups?
@BKPickups3 жыл бұрын
Silos have more output in the bridge position, but less output in the neck, so they cover a broader range of output. The Polymath is a medium output in both bridge and neck positions, with a slightly softer edge to the attack and a little more harmonic richness in the mids overall. All in all, they are both aimed at a fairly similar sound, but their output, response and feel is what really sets them apart.
