My grandfather loved this song. It took my hours to hunt it down for him, we just started talking again after years of fighting and he was like a father to me, which meant a lot since I never knew mine. A week later he ended up in the hospital and died of unknown causes after we took him home because no surgery woukd save or help him, he had so many things trying to kill him that came up at once.. I understand why your grandfather liked this song and so much. It was part of the music that we listened to back in the day when songs still told stories and had amazing melodies, and words that we could relate to. For me, as a teenager in the 70's I loved to dance to this song, and took the message in the song as a warning about not trusting everyone. I never partied much as my parents were really strict, but I did come across a guy once when I was about 16, that made the hair on my neck and arms stand up. I literally felt some kind of evil that day and got the hell out of there! So I have no idea about the blue Hedgehog that everyone seems to be commenting on, but this song definitely left a heck of an impression on me for all these years. So who knows what else your Grandfather could have shared with you about the meaning of the song to him and maybe a warning to you as well about evil.
