Thanks for the review. After a lot of research I opted for a Parrot Anafi over one of these and your review confirms to me I probably did the right thing. I've had great flights with the Anafi already, amazing still photos and video, and it seems to give much more natural colours than any of the Hubsan drones. Your channel helps make getting into drones so much more accessible to us novices. Keep up the good work, I'm always keen to see what you'll show us next 🙂

I have watched many of your drone reviews and in my opinion, your drone presentations are the best on the internet. Concise, to the point, and they cover every feature. I decided to purchase a refurbished Mavic Air with Fly More pack with the same 1 yr. DJI warranty. Got it for under $600. It is awesome. I live near a city lake and golf course so I have plenty of room to fly around. The best part is that this drone has hit the landing pad almost dead center each and every time using the RTH function. This Mavic Air pack far outshines the Zino 2 in both features, quality, and price. Thanks for your help and keep up the good work.

Awesome review. It totally reflects my experience with the Zino 2. I've got mine and I love it. So many bad reviews out there, but I don't have those issues (yet). The apron landing is also a little off on my side. The drone gets to about 2 feet above the apron and then when the camera tilts to horizon level, it shifts sideways and misses the apron. Because off all the bad reviews I'm really careful in flying with the drone, but the footage I took and placed on my KZbin channel are awesome. Can't wait to fly again. stay safe

Steve, thank you very much for your very comprehensive and quite complete review of the Zino 2! I was the 1st to fly the Zino 2 in NA in the middle of January, and boy it really flies at -10 C, very robust, and a good fast flyer even with very strong gusty winds. I wish the camera was better when facing the sun and not get small flares at the extremities. If the DJI Mavic Air 2 was available before the Zino 2, I would probably never have gotten it. I think the Z2 is more robust, with stronger arms than both versions of the FIMI X8 SE. But between the Z2, the X8, and the MA2, I really, really recommend the MA2, which is a lot lighter, more precise flyer, and with an exquisite camera - the best quad of 2020.

Based on KZbin videos, including your video Captain, I decided to take a chance on the Zino 2. So far my experience has been excellent. Eight flights in the RTH function has found the landing pad three times, all three of them in the last four flights. The fourth of the last 4 flights it missed by inches, influenced by wind gusts. I do notice it loses altitude when flown at low altitude and faster speeds. It also seems to lose quite a bit of altitude when turning. Otherwise it is very stable in flight. When I first fired the drone up and connected to the app, it did require a firmware update. I was able to do it thru the app in short time. Anyone who is a fan of Hubsan drones that owns the Zino Pro version considering upgrading to this drone, DO IT. The Zino Pro was my first drone and I like it a lot. I fly the Zino Pro almost every time I fly the Zino 2. But the added battery life, improved stability, upgraded camera & longer range makes the Zino 2 a no-brainer.

I bought my Hubsan Zino 2 in Dec. I paid $399. I save a lot of money by buying it in Dec. But Hubsan support is worthless. My Zino 2 been setting on my table for the last 5 and half months. Haven't flown it one time. A very awesome Facebook and KZbin guy has it now working his wonderful magic on it and I know when I get it back it will be fixed right an working 100% right. Most of the Hubsan Zino 2 now are selling for $689.00. I am buying the DJI Mavic 2 pro. I own 3 other Hubsan drones I like them all there not the Zino. Captain Drone I watch all of yr videos and enjoy them all.

Another reason why I never bothered. The last thing I need after spending $$ on anything drone is grief right at the start... hopefully one day Hubsan evolves to a solid platform. It’s just not there yet.. one day they will get it right..LOL There are many other drones within that price range that are so much better ! Like the Mavic Mini FlyMore for $499 USD.. yeah ok NO 4K , but still a very decent feature rich sub 250g drone. Great reviews as always ! Thanks ! 👍🇨🇦

I lost two Mavic Minis, one due to a stupidly designed RTH that won’t increase speed to return when it is against the wind and the other an incorrectly recorded RTH address. The first incident made the Mini basically hovering in the wind until its battery charge reduces to 0. I learned that I have to increase speed to avoid this issue even when using RTH. In the second incident my Mini “returned” to a location far far away that I don’t know where it is. But, the Mini is very light and portable. So, I got my third one. On the other hand, when I flew Zino and Zino 2, I am not so certain that it will fly well and I don’ have any confidence that Zino 2 can fly well. I love my Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic Air 2. IMO, even the Mavic Air is better than the Zino 2, although flying time is much shorter.

Thank You Steve!, As always, a very solid review. Was really looking at the Hubsan Zino 2 when a mavic pro Platinum came up 2nd hand.. Turned out to be a garage queen...a solid day of trying to sort out the updates it needed.. Yeah.. she was WELL behind... Either way... think I would have been happy with either of them... solid drones in most respects and the picture quality is great on the Zino 2 The RTH is a little dicey but really... she was close... any pilot could take her down safe... it's only the ones the press buttons and walk away... (we hear of them frequently though.....) Keep up the great work Steve!! Love the channel!

Around 28 minutes and I'm landing at 20 percent battery. Also had no problem updating wireless with the app. Worked the first time!(must have gotten lucky) lol. I was also impressed with the range I could get! I'm thinking they will do a zino pro 2 just like zino. Maybe put opstical avoidance sensers on the front!!

Wowwwwww, Nevermind on that hunk of junk!! Time to go and cancel the order for my Zino2 I didn't really watch any of the other reviews for the last month because I wanted to wait for your no-nonsense review to come out and show its true colors... Now it's definitely not worth the $700 Price tag!! Now the Fimi 2020 I have heard its got much better ABS used and it's supposedly way more optimized and I've seen the precision landing is DJI comparable due to it using the bottom optical to take pictures and remember the home point location and locate the landing zone WITHOUT having to use the main camera to locate the "H" to land precisely XD but thank you again and I'll send out my review of the Fimi when It finally arrives! I guess it was a good thing it has been delayed on me receiving it so thanks again steve you da shiznit!!

Yes, my similar sentiments as well. Almost placed an order for Zino 2, but for all its issues and limitations - it is overpriced. Given its performance, I might buy at $300-$350 USD but not $500 USD. Looking at Yuneec Mantis G (I know its limitations) or Autel EVO. I love the DJI Mavic hardware - but can't get it on principle with its half baked no fly zones. I know all the Transport Canada rules and have the online maps where not to fly, etc... I don't need DJI nanny to tell me/control me on where to fly. Most of the disappointing reviews of DJI hardware for Canadians is the DJI nanny software (DJI geo fencing) telling them they can't fly even when the area is safe to fly by checking Transport Canada maps (outside of airports and control zones).

Nice review Cap, thanks! I've had my Z2 for a couple months, and Hubsan is still working out bugs. Your video shows the notorious "lens flair" everyone complains about, but my biggest concern is the possibility of prop failures. Several owners are seeing the drone simply "fall from the sky" for no discernable reason and crashes show a prop missing (although possible from impact). Digging deeper, it seems Hubsan chose to use the same propellers from the Zino Pro, a drone which is lighter and less powerful. I believe that added weight and torque of the Z2 is snapping a single prop off where it attaches. Just a THEORY so far, but it fits the arbitrary loss in flight problems.

Thanks for another great unbiased review. I think the 4k video footage was amazing, and on a mostly overcast day. I have the original zino and like it the camera seems to "punch above its weight". It's unfortunate that the Mavic mini has destroyed the 400$us price range, the zino 2 has range, battery life, and camera over it but the price is to close to the DJI alternative

I think all reviews should talk about how loud a drone is. Most of my flights are at parks and want to keep people from feeling I'm intruding. This seemed like it was fairly quiet for a drone of its size. I chose a Fimi A3 as noise level was a major plus, along with the 5.8.

I had the same problem updating my Zino 2 when I tried to update manually, through the usb port, the cable pushed inside the body. Well the customer support for that issue was poor and lengthy. To say the least I returned the Zino 2 for a full refund. My bottom line is that build quality and customer service should be a number one item in selecting a drone rather than an after thought. If I had been able to really examine build quality and customer service when I initially was buying the Zino 2, today it would be a no brainer...I wouldn't buy it. Of course maybe there is no better alternative. Maybe drone companies in general should be held to a higher standard and have to document build quality, customer service, etc.

Brad R i have the hs720 and it’s pretty good but I suggest not to do it inside or by metal or group of trees because I did and you will lose connection but that’s not the drones fault. Overall it’s a 9/10 drone. It’s not super accurate but it is pretty accurate. Also when I used inside I had the gps on inside which was dumb of me but it crash due to the walls of my house. Also to get 4K footage from the hs720 you have to have a micro sd card and then put it into a computer and you’ll have 4K. But keep in mind that there are camera setting where you can make it 2.5k or 4K and 4K take up a lot of room

@@CAPTAINDRONE798 true, and I looked at them originally, but even a phantom 3 used is about 800 aud. The hubsan, however, is about 450.

According to the poor landing accuracy, why don’t they provide a landing pad sending a signal, electrical or visual (like a light beam) to the drone , just need an AA battery in the pad . Just an idea.

Great job as usual. Looked at this for a second drone but decided to stay with DJI

Do you not like Headless Mode? Is it dangerous? Sorry for the ignorant and silly question (if it is), but I've never used the mode on any drone, or for that matter never gave it much thought. Are there times when one should use the mode? I have the Hubsan H501SS, and have modded both the drone and the standard controller with new antennae, so I can get more than 2km range -- though I've never flown it more than 1.4km away. I love the H501SS, but I really need a gimballed camera, so the Zino is something I'd like to get. Maybe the 2 is the one!

Headless mode was designed in the days before GPS and was mainly for people who had no sense of direction when flying a drone. The problem is that it teaches you really bad habits and on an expensive GPS drone, it will lead to a crash whenever the GPS goes out because the pilot has no ability to fly without it.

GREAT video as always. I have the Zino 2 and really enjoy the flying qualities and video quality (4K/60 @ 100K data rate!) ......EXCEPT for the LENS FLARE! I made a video on my channel comparing the Zino 1, Zino 2, and a Sony RX100 Mark VI. Lens flare on the Zino 2 is very bad.

I've had my Zino 2 in the air approximately 10 times. One time I did have an issue where the controller stated the USB was not connected even though I could hear my Iphone beeping like it does every time it has been plugged into the drone previously. That was disappointing. However, got it back home two days later and it flew again like nothing had ever happened. I didn't really know what I was getting since this is my first drone. Only that one issue so far!
@ckshene72124 жыл бұрын
This USB not connected thing also happens to Zino. The message system screwed up big. With the Zino 2, the app also warned me saying that your battery has been staying in the drone for too long and the battery should be recharged when the battery power indicator still shows 58%. Sometimes I don’t understand the female voice in English. They should hire a native English speaking person to redo all the voice messages. Those constantly popped up message on screen are also distractingly bad.

Hi Steve. Loving your videos. Which would you choose out of the Zino 2 or Fimi X8 SE 2020?

who wins between the zino2 and mavic mini?
@epsonexxon10884 жыл бұрын
Hi, do you think the dji mavic mini can be compared with this drone and the fimi xe se 2020 or is the mini a bit advance compared to the other drones mentioned since it has better camera quality and functionality not mentioning its light weight, cheaper price point and a dji product? Thanks!
@CAPTAINDRONE7984 жыл бұрын
The ZINO 2 blows the Mavic Mini out of the water. Now if you need a drone under 250 grams, then the Mavic Mini is the one to get.
@epsonexxon10884 жыл бұрын
@Vasileios Kons Kond Okay, so let us all hope that fimi would solve the issues on the rear arm durability, battery issues and the video issue/tilt horizon which some recent videos showed these defects except for the rear arm durability which remains to be tested yet....

Deciding on this Hubsan Zino 2 vs. the Mavic Air you think it's worth it to save a few dollars? I have an Mountain Biking Channel and am looking for 4k stabilized footage with a reliable drone and video camera what should I get I am looking for best bang for the buck and with all the negative reviews on these cheaper drones I'm thinking the Mavic Air might be the best bet??
@CAPTAINDRONE7984 жыл бұрын
The ZINO 2 is about half the drone the MAVIC AIR 2 is. If you can only afford the ZINO 2, and you are new to drones, you won't notice the differences.

I am trying to decide between the Zino 2/+ and the FIMI X8 SE 2020. I like doing long distance waypoint missions for video production and found the FIMI has a waypoint range limit of 1km from the controller to the drone. Does the Zino 2/+ have a range limit from the controller to the drone when doing waypoints? Love the video!
