The Potential of Solo Raids for Lost Ark

Solo raids could make the game 100 times more popular and approachable, just because it would appeal to so much bigger of a player base. Imagine if you could do the raid with any amount of people (it would scale automatically), then not fear of being locked since the rewards would be given at the end of the raid ( if people vote like argos) or if you get jailed you could finish it solo. I'd do it even with 50% gold rewards. This would teach me the raid, have no anxiety, don't waste time being denied, and i could invite a friend or two for more fun. Ofc it has to have proper mechanics and be challenging enough to where its a realistic practice. It its too easy or too hard or doesn't give any gold it's gonna be dead on arrival. Still, have it for everything except maybe the latest raid pls, last 3 missing is just not good enough. We desperately need this to work out or the game legit could die in the west.

Its not going to do anything. Tell me who solo's guardian raids? People make groups and go in as a group even though you can do it solo. Solo raids is a waste of time.

@GFClocked i don't know why it takes you so long to get a support. Yes in the beginning it was support jail but after the first 2 weeks it eased up a bunch. Voldis is braindead content now ypu could do it without a support.

@@jlee9360 I did every single guardian up to Hanumatan solo on ilvl on every type of character (i mean Entropy and Hit Masters, except supports) so it's doable. I just wanted to challenge myself and see if i can do it and tbh it's pretty fun. Solo content give you sense of progression and teach you how to operate in this game. Thanks to this you can more comfortable and easier learn and master your class (especially when u don't waste others time) so it is a game changer as long as they will give you gold ofc because doing them just for the sake of doing them is pointless.

I want solo raids to be a "safe space" for new and returning players, but I don't want them to be a direct competitor to their multiplayer counterparts. I believe solo raids should give the same rewards as their multiplayer counterparts just in smaller amounts. In an ideal world, I'd also like to see them be a real learning tool as you put it but that's more in the bonus category for me. As long as they get the rewards right, I think they will be well-received regardless.

One of the biggest reasons why FF14 is still so popular is because of their implantation of roulettes and solo raids. So there is already a model for this in MMO's and it's proven to be very successful. Edit: I think it should be up to the final tier, not final 3. Reason for this is because of the vertical systems tied to the new raids. When we get Echidna, Thaemine should be part of the solo raids for transendence progression.

I can see myself playing the game MORE if the solo raids are implemented well. Less hassle and less waiting in party finder. And hopefully just enough rewards like cards and stuff to let me progress a tiny bit more on the roster and alts just because I can. I would actually do card runs if I could do them solo. Don't get me wrong; I do enjoy party content but honestly, 8 man groups are so volatile even if you're in a static. People get burnt out, and real life can happen to anyone. Makes me wish for more 4 player content too, as the lower player count makes it easier to static or even find a quick group.

Exactly my opinion, 4 man raids are the best mode for endgame content and Abyssal Dungeons should get solo mode so we as returnee or new players can farm the card sets faster so we can join the party endgame and have the real MMO experience

Your theories are good and I agree that they would be really interesting. An NPC party would be absolutely amazing. I would add that solo raids are also good when you want to play a character that is not yet fully built with engravings and so on. You know the damage will be shit, you just want to test the class rotations and gameplay. Also, would be really nice if the NPC party could adapt the number of players in your party. Maybe you wanna teach a raid to a single friend but don't want to affect 6 other players so you can "Duo" the raid. With all of that said, knowing SG, they just adapted multi player mechanics to work with one player and you will play alone without yearning and eating shit. Supports will just get a crazy damage buff. I'm sure it will be scuffed, that's what SG likes to do. Makes you play in a way completely unrelated to main content. The exact same reason the weekly guardian raids and abyssal dungeons are equalized to low ilvl, all so you play in a completely different manner, with different rotations, shit crit and no damage. There's no reason for those modes to be like that, but they are.

Regular gold in solo raids is a must imo. Double gold loot and improve the random loot rewards to keep people interested in group raids. I stopped playing after my static quit the game in brel and I've been wanting to get back in but having to find learning groups for raids to get gold and progress is cheeks. I rather move on my own pace to catch up.

If they give us 50% of gold but 100% materials and 100% of mechanics in the raid It is 100% a WIN because i can finally learn Kakul and get titles (Yes, i want titles because ppl gatekeep even for that) And funny enough If they add Solo Raids for that content you are doing in the video, Cards sets will be way easy to farm and people can get LoS 30 faster

First pizza is not Velganos, it's Rohandel Abyssal 2. First boss that has mirror mech has the first pizza pattern that basically shows you the direction of the pizza. That was recycled later for many different fights.

very good video sir. i really agree with your points. SOLO raids are make or break in my opinion. The good news is that even if the system is meh at the beggining they can add on it and balance it properly. i hope saturday gives a fresh air to the game and gets people excited again.

Solo raids will be a huge bless to Lost Ark. I think a lot of people whould rather play specific end game raids solo then spending hours of finding people , to success the raid because you getting jailed all the time. Even if it would give me less gold and mats , i would preffer it cuz i can learn the raid on my own pace without any pressure or thinking people will kick me any time soon or starting to be toxic. A long with the permanent 5x3 Support and honing supports , it will make it more new player friendly and prefent a lot of people of quitting the Game. Me as a solo player and many others doesnt like to be forced to make all the content in a group. Now we have an option!

I f***ing LOVE solo raids, and I think every MMO needs some. You don't need to play every single thing in a group. Best example is the story dungeons; to yorn - oreha. Makes 0 sense you are forced to play in a group of 4 and one reason I didn't do them in forever. Only recently realized how little there is to do in terms of solo play except the brain damaging trash like chaos dungeons and MUCH of the exploration type content. And I was disappointed. Probably won't play much solo tho bc I have experience up to Voldis and the reduced rewards but I appreciate the option to do it.

I just think solo mode should be almost hellishly difficult. The logic is as follows, people who play a raid in more difficult modes will always do the easier ones with their eyes closed. Just look at the people who have a hell of a raid title, do those same raids and get mvp without any effort. Imagine a player doing Akkan in hell mode, even solo, and then having to do it in a group, but in hard or normal mode, wouldn't he do it with much less difficulty? And another thing is that they need to make it very difficult, so that bots don't have a chance, if it's a mode where anyone can do it without difficulties even if they make a lot of mistakes, bots will reign in this game.

the problem of solo raid is that it can be boring, a chore and ppl just quit when they see how many raids they have to do in order to advance, and they are doing it alone. im all of solo raid for my alts. Even if it to give gold, who care when you play alone for months alone just to get theamine and get gatekept. lost ark is doomed unless they dont chage a lot of things. imagine doing 6 legion a week alone for months for minimal reward and see how slow you progress and RNG, elixir and transcendence. most ppl will quit again. it will be popular and fun for a while tho. then downhill again

Furthermore, there will be group raids, with normal rewards, one of the factors for having a solo raid, as the AG itself said, is for players to learn the mechanics, and be able to play in a group later, and also, for convenience, if you are in a time when you don't have a group for your raid, or you simply just want to do something quick. Solo Raids are not meant to replace group content, they are a convenience.

A variable party size would actually be kind of neat . But they would still want full actual players in the actual endgame, so there is still a limit to how deep this would go.

First we need to see what the reward is for doing your raids as solo is vs. grouped. If it's equal in value, this will destroy the raiding culture for all content that isn't current, because why would anyone bother to run grouped when they can just watch youtube and knock out 12 of my 18 raids that way and PF is going to hard dry up. If it's less value, then only those not comfortable with the raids each week will use it, and it basically becomes a better version of rehearsal and might help with learning some boss mechanics, but does very little to prepare a player to actually group with others, and if the first time a player has to interact with another human is Thaemine, that's going to have all sorts of issues tied to it. This is specifically tied to "anyone can do solo" meaning the act of actually needing to do damage or dying is totally removed, since you cannot balance this game around every possible character type at every possible power spike that would be engaged in this content. or it could just be more homework, where you get bound materials for doing it and all of us suddenly now have 32 raids a week to do.

Solo raids won't be a good learning tool. Clown rehearsal was missing key mechs. There was no clown meter in g1-2, no velganos in g2 and no saws or bingo in g3. Solo raids will likely have to compromise a lot since group mechs will have to be altered. That being said, solo raids still need to be in the game.

The rewards must be the same or even more, since (even if) its implemented primarelly as a "catch up" mechanism and if you give less gold how the "new player" will hone the gear? Then they need to completelly remove gold for honing, and I don't think they will do that.

They cannot and are not going to give *more* rewards than regular raids, thats just dumb. The point of solo raids is primarily to give players new to the raid or new to the game an easier time learning so they can eventually transition to group content, with a secondary benefit being experienced players can run them as well if they can't find parties or don't have time. The regular multiplayer version of the raid should always be the most rewarding version of the content, solo raid can either match it or give slightly less rewards but should never exceed them. Especially if you're thinking of the economy of the game and how bots could exploit that.

I really like what you brought up about solo content not really being “solo”. There's no learning if it is severely tuned down or if there's no group mechanics you have to do. I don't think they should give full gold/reward，like you said it will kill the party finder a lot and screws over those who have 2，3 friends but not a full 8. They won't be able to play together without staying in party finder even longer. I think reward structure should still benefit group content more.

Yeah something I wrote notes on in the past and forgot to mention is that it can't be too easy to be botted. As for bots abusing, I'm not sure really. The only solution I could see is making solo gold bound. Which idk, maybe at this point all gold non tradable so everything has a market paper trail at the least.
