The Potteries Loop Line

A look at part of the Potteries Loop Line between Hanley and Mow Cop via Burslem, Tunstall, and Kidsgrove. Photos used to go to their respective authors. For educational use only. Enjoy. I did miss out Stoke and Etruria by accident but there is not much to really document of Etruria and Stoke is still open. So regardless enjoy.

Where the old platform is on the picture in Kidsgrove (Now Tesco) we played down there for hours as kids making dens etc. It was really overgrown in the 80's perfect for exploring for kids ;-)

First time I went for a look around I couldn't believe a railway line actually went under Waterloo Road then curved around to the left in a deep cutting through Cobridge Tunnel, amazing

I can remember playing on those abandoned tracks as a kid. A lot of has changed in 50 years. There's some hidden gems underground too. Hopefully Stoke-on-Trent will get some investment soon. The end of our local industry has crushed progress. People can drop names & things that made Stoke-on-Trent. It's the decent hard working grafters that cherrish our City. ❤

The bridge top on leek new road at cobridge station is still on show and there is a ramp thats still in place that lead directly to the station platform ,

Re Hanley station, the wall remaining is the abutment wall of the down line, the station was in a cutting and was filled in leaving walls and platforms intact,only the station building was demolished which was ground level where the hotel car park is now,access to platforms was via stairs.

I remember going over Hanley train station when I was age 6 I have been there a couple times this yearcand done a video but over grown now great video buddy I love exsploring old places myself 💯💯👍👍

Last time I walked past the Cobridge station location next to the track bed was remains of the station platform, a bit like the Newchapel location.

The old station masters house is still there on the road near to Tunstall Station I believe

Yeah it is directly right of the signal pole in the Tunstall station part of the video

The ORIGINAL Hanley station building still exists, its the small white painted building directly across from the Best Western. It used to be a lighting shop.

No it dosnt , the light shop had nothing to do with the station ,the station building was on the site of the best western car park on the same side , and at a much lower level not across the road
