I lived in Poughkeepsie. I knew a girl who had to do the autopsies on all the bodies found buried. This is loosely based on that serial killer of hookers in Poughkeepsie. That, was true.

I felt the same as y’all after I finished. I think the movie peaks during that home invasion when you first see the mask. That was genuinely horrifying, but everything after that feels cartoonishly evil & edgy just for the sake of it. Cause even if you want to go super bleak, I feel the same way about that ending… bare minimum the cops should’ve known to stake out that grave & they should’ve caught him. They tried too hard to make it “realistic” that it ended up the opposite to me 🤷🏾‍♂️. But I prefer my horror to feel more slasher than true crime anyway.
