I use to live around the corner from him in Jersey City. And he was a serious guy, very smart, always reading a book, reserved, and quiet. I believe he was a Muslim, 5%'r, As a child, he was the first person I ever met that I saw on TV.

Its original snap in fact, its under the name of POWER JAM (SEARCH) ft Chill Rob G. The men behind Power Jam is actually the men behind Snap: Michael Münzing (Benito Benites) & Luca Anzilotti (John Virgo Garrett III). Actual song you listening to is combined by Mantronix - King Of Beats (rhythm), Jocelyn Brown - Love Gonna Get You (Vocal Hooks) and Chill Rob G - Let The Words Flow (Rap). They first release this song, but due to copyright issues with Chill Rob G, the Germans decide to redo the song with own rapper - Turbo B and "I've Got the Power" vocal hook from someone else (There's a rare records without Jocelyn's hook) Anyway the most of the releases are with her hook.

you are right. power jam - the power is if you want the answer for all the people who dont know who made that song its a snap song and under the name "power jam" ,snap released this song ofiicially with rob g as rapper first rob g dont want his rap on the track from snap but then he realised he can make money and try to release the song under his name but failed casue its not his song. so he contact the 2 from snap and tehy made this song officially under the name "power jam" but it IS a snap song

From what I overstand, Chill Rob G made a song in 87 called "Let the Words Flow". In 1990, the two producers of Snap took the acapella, put it over their beat and released it as "Power Jam". Chill Rob wasn't having that. After a copyright dispute started up, Snap went and found new ppl to record over the beat. That's where you get "I Got The Power" with Turbo B, which blew up. Afterwards, Chill Rob G linked with them and they all agreed to once again use this beat, this time for his song, "The Power".

This is still made by Snap!!! Thats the first version of the Song. Snap used rob g's rappin from another Song as sample here. But the song is made by Snap. Rob g had first a Problem with that so snap used rapper Turbo b. and made a second version with Turbo. But then rob changed his mind. And they made another (like 3 version) of the Song extra for the US Marked, under the Name "power jam" This time again with rob g as Rapper. But ALL Versions were made by the Snap Producers.

Chill Rob G's vocals from "Let The Words Flow" were added to "The Power" (Arista), a track produced in Germany containing samples from Mantronixs "King Of The Beats Lesson #1", and vocals by Jocelyn Brown's "Love's Gonna Get You". Stu Fine (former owner of Wild Pitch), made a seal with Arista to release it in Europe and N. America, where it did well. Chill Rob G consented to a US release (which he thought could be lucrative), but Arista Records wanted to release it there too- and since the record couldn't be released by two labels, Arista replaced CRG's vocals with Turbo B.

And by the way, the only thing they took from the original song what's the horn riff...clearly part of the demise of intelligent rap aka MC ing.
