Cuz the negative is what is seen. It’s real. Don’t tell her it’s not happening because it is. At that young age, your daughter needs to hear the validation (since you’re invalidating already by telling her she is being negative) that she isn’t crazy or negative for what she is experiencing). The truth is not always so externally seen even though it’s the truth. I am 44 and it has only been the last 5 years that I’ve learned why ppl get frustrated when I’m stating the very obvious that is quite negative. They personify me as a negative person because they are trying to paint this falsehood in me that I’m the one that’s negative NOT what I see is happening and am actually experiencing. When people say speak positive and state what is true, what they mean is speaking what you don’t see happening: belief. It’s the difference between your circumstance and what is in you. A reconciliation indeed. Dismissing your [negative] experience is delusional and it is NOT GOD and it’s not good. CHOOSING positivity and putting truth on deception is POWER. Making people think they are delusional is producing powerlessness and anger, tho. Otherwise, it’s gonna be something she is gonna have to unpack and unlearn about her understanding of truth and what’s real as she reconciles for herself…which as you know Pastor Toure, is much harder. It’s not supportive. My parents set off that chain of events in a religious atmosphere no less, and it wasn’t supportive to my growth EXCEPT for the fact that I had to learn HOW to articulate how they actually hurt and stunted my growth to realize this earlier. How to intelligently and successfully articulate and defend my reality as well as my beliefs, and then realize how I must reconcile the two, and then use the power of HEALTHY (not toxic) positivity to get to the other side.
