About 10 years ago, one of the largest ecological resorts in Portugal was born. Located on a peninsula surrounded by parks and nature reserves, famous for its transparent sea and extensive sandy beaches, the Pestana Troia Eco Resort established itself from the start as a pioneering project in the tourism sector. It was designed and created from scratch to maintain a sustainable balance between nature preservation and family leisure activities. The resort has become the pinnacle of the sustainability strategy of the Portuguese hotel group Grupo Pestana, which is inspired by Troia to replicate best practices in environmental and social management in the hotels that owns nationally and internationally. In this episode of the series "Sustainable Destination" we take this innovative example as a starting point to understand how tourism projects can gain brand strength based on an ecological awareness.
