I think this preamp would sound immense with EMGs. I initially wanted EMGs but would've needed some re-routing. This preamp is a no-brainer and believe me I've tried a few!
@joegone97724 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the quick reply! This is what John sent me - I suggest keep the EMG pickups for now, I'm certain they're very good, always best to change just one thing at a time. If you change two, anything good or bad, it's not clear which new part is responsible. I would retain the EMG volumes with the push-pulls, we don't have push-pulls for the pickups with any of our preamps. The top of our range is the UNI-PRE if you aren't getting enough of what you want from the Tone Pump, but EQ only for your bass, a bit of a special. You would need someone who knows bass electronics to wire it in for you. See here, ignore the volume/blend and passive tone. www.east-uk.com/product/uni-pre-4-knob/ Best wishes, John

@LiamTillyer6 жыл бұрын
Larry, the only thing the bass is going through is the SPL Channel One which you can see. I use it for very light compression and to impart some tube warmth. It makes a marginal difference, the bass would still sound almost the same direct into the interface. The sound mainly comes from the onboard preamp and pickups. Hope this helps.
