I could not engage with abdal hakim murad because i always felt he was monotoned and my concentration span is unfortunatley extreamly weak. This lecture was extreamly beneficial mashallah!

Mashala sheikh, this is a wonderful and very useful lecture. My question and dilemma: Is there any tradition, hadith or israeliat that confirms and proves that Benu Israel killed women and children after the conquest in the holy land? My opinion, and Allah knows best, is that it probably didn’t happen that way. For as far as I understand the history of monotheism, no prophet of God (and Musa a.s. also received the revelation of the religious law) would order or allow that kine of violence. Much like there is a suspicion ( among some of ulema) in a hadith about the killing of about 400 (practically all of them) men from the Jewish tribe of Benu Qurayza. I have heard that some of the scholars believe that this hadith was wrongly transmitted either in relation to the number of those who killed, or that only the couple liders of betrayal were killed, or that they were punished by expulsion from Medina. I think the killing of all the men of one tribe( which probably also means that many or some of them are innocent in terms of individual responsibility) is reasonably suspcious that Prophet Muhammad s.a.v.s to approve and support that act, according the overall insight into his approach and attitude towards enemies, captives and especially the Ehli Kitab people. Massacre by Prophet Musa (pbuh) is mentioned in the Old Testament. Holy Quran does not mention it. We do not believe Prophet Musa (pbuh) indiscriminately killed people. In warfare maybe but not innocent people. Jewish tribe in Medina were expelled after they betrayed the treaty however, one tribe joined the Quraish and not only betrayed the treaty but actively took part in trying to kill the Prophet (pbuh) and the Muslims. Prophet (pbuh) allowed their own leader (who had accepted Islam) to make the judgement. According to their own law, the males were all put to death. It is explained well by Dr. Yasir Qadri in his series Seerah of the Prohet (pbuh). This is from my humble understanding. Allah knows best.
