This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my KZbin channel 10 months ago about self development. Now I have 1,979 subs and > 2k hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.

Selfishness puts the other ('opponent') on the defensive. When people encounter Selfishness from someone they deem is exploitable... They become scared. Fear makes people less confident. This makes them less objective. And hence more Incompetent. Exactly what you'd want your opponent to be.

The video is teaching one to find balance in all aspects of life. Leaning to heavily to either side of self vs other is unhealthy. Discernment is key for handling situational experiences that require one's moral values to make a decision. Being out of balance creates a domino effect on the decisions being made, whether they be selfish or unselfish.

This seems like 🧢ngl. Like some modern bs with musashi’s name stuck on it. He wouldn’t have preached selfishness, his philosophy was one based in pragmatism, and he pursued enlightenment through the sword. He was known to be friends with zen priest Takuan Soho who wrote letters to him and his contemporary, Munenori Yagyu. Zen would be closer to selflessness rather than selfishness. Though the state of selflessness is not the “self sacrificing” kind. It’s more about accepting self nature but also going beyond self.

So do you believe a man that mastered the sword was not selfish? To master anything you most put ones self first to stay steadfast to one's goals. I think you missed the point/ teaching
@daesong1378
@daesong1378 6 ай бұрын
@@user-vw9hd5kk8l no, the implication of selfishness is being controlled by the self, or the ego, mastering the self goes beyond that. The concept of “self mastery” is common in martial arts in general. Controlling the self vs being controlled by the self. How can you call that just “being selfish”? It’s far oversimplified to the point of being incorrect, not to mention falling into common modern trope.
@user-vw9hd5kk8l

@daesong1378 I agree it is an oversimplications. But the mastery of one self starts inward, which is a selfish act in itself. A disregard of others espectation placed on you. I believe that os what this video/teaching is among for. Your prenotion of selfishness is not wrong but it's holding you back from looking at it in a different light. I am selfish with my time and energy. I choose how and when I spend it.

True samurai do not need a valuation or criticism to make their judgment or their call. They do not need anything from anyone they can adapt if they have to I stay true to myself I am a sigma does not mean I don’t love my father. I’ve in heaven, nor my mother, I honored them by being the best version I can be myself it states in the 10 Commandments, honored thou, mother and father, but I don’t feel like honoring them right now cause I feel like everything’s being pushed upon me especially religion I myself and my Christian nondenominational meaning I believe in what you say, but I have my own opinion on how things really are I’ve seen things that can’t be explained by human thought, I believe in monsters and creatures of the night. Does that make me a monster? No I believe in a lot of things that society does not. I would say it’ll be interesting to find out what I think. What you agree.

LOL, now were going to have new generations of people looking at this philosophy thinking his teachings as an excuse to be a selfish dickhead. When in reality, Musashi came from a different era where being a self improving bachelor even till your dotage, instead of sacrificing and toiling away for your family, was considered selfish because you weren't following your social "duties". Now and days, we live in a human world where its society that is selfish, and helping to build upon yourself and others is looked at as being an "alt right", all the "ism's" in the modern lingua franca, or a broke loser.
