During my summer of practice (2019) I realized my slide was a bit inconsistent. I figured out that my power step was the inconsistent part. Worked hard on making sure I was driving into my slide. Stay on the power step longer, drive it forward, better slide, more stable finish. Thanks for all the tips you share, Shannon!

Hi from Colombia. When people walks, the foot have a cicle named phases: swing and support. About support have; 1-Initial touch (the ball is in the tope of the backswing) 2-response to weight ( the ball is holding a little in the top) 3-medium support ( the ball and body weight are holding in the leg) 4-initial momentum ( the ball starts the down swing) 5- last momentum ( the ball is near to the bottom of the swing). The momentum is created with the leg and metatarsal bones. If the ball isn’t synchronized with the walk biomechanics, maybe will needs to hold the ball a little second more or maybe will don’t have the efficiency in the momentum. Thanks for share your experience and knowledge

This worked for me! You are great! I watched this video before league yesterday. I dislocated my slide knee at work years ago and have pain on and off bowling. I just got new shoes yesterday as well. I was looking for a way to ease up on my slide knee. It's hard to stay on balance when the pain starts. I can barely bare down on it. I tried this!!! It worked! I didn't step off to the right and my slide foot didn't slide and turn left causing more pain in my knee and throwing me to the right! Thank you! I can't wait to try it again.

I have learned a lot by observing your technique but this particular tip was great. I never thought about the power step consciously but now I feel like my stability has improved. It also forced me to stay a bit farther on the approach which in turn bought me some time and made me less "paranoid" as I approach the foul line. It was a simple adjustment but something in my body mechanics just clicked and the improvement was instant. Thank you.

How far should my power step be from the foul line? I'm often afraid that I will foul with my sliding foot, so I end my slide about 6-8 inches from the foul line. Is this a bit too far? Thanks, Shannon!

Thanks for the video. My son seems to almost jump in his last step with no slide at all. I think it’s from him wanting to generate more power. I hope these two easy tips will help him slide into his release, gain more balance and control.

Good afternoon Shannon it's quite a honor to ask you a very important question . I have developed knee pain on my slide foot I to am a right hander so I have struggled a few weeks with my knee pain and keeping my form and keeping my sliding foot straight. I haven't bowled in about 18yrs or so. I got all new equipment again I'm getting back in the game again it has been about 4 weeks now I practice about 3 times a week but I'm going to take a break. I did get x-rays they don't see anything but it still hurts yes I'm 52 and I am starting physical therapy in a few days. So that being said may i ask what could I be doing wrong besides my foot turning side ways . I'm 5.11 205 pretty strong but do you think the ball is to heavy. 16lbs all 4 of them.
