The only thing that kills this for me is the lack of a ventral gun. I mean put 1 pilot and three gunners in the cockpit, then put another turret on the ventral hull and suddenly you have a heavy assault fighter that can shoot anywhere in a full 360 degree bubble. Like a smaller Millennium Falcon. Now that's what I call a Gunboat.

Gunboats are wonderful and like P.T boats used in WW2 & Vietnam can really pay off. I'm not crazy about this model but who knows if Could may take out my favorite Marauder

The perfect bounty hunter ship. Get a partner and a droid and you're in business- convert the fourth crew area into a Carbonite freezer or small cell for prisoners.

One of the villains in my Star Wars rpg has quite a few skiprays That are part of his convoy. Good ships in the fantasy flight game!!

I'd take it over a B-wing, but I couldn't pass up a squadron of TIE Defenders. Those things are unstoppable. Pilot/crew skill being the same, you'd be handicapping yourself if you chose skiprays over TIE/d's.

As an individual ship (fighter) superior. But due to the cost in resources, can't be produced in the same numbers as the Defender or the B-Wing.

I disagree in that the Skipray is made to be as good In an atmosphere as in space- plus that turret means getting a lock on the Skipray means it has a lock on YOU too...

Ever since I had the ship technical Manual set droids, weapons, ships (same as pictured in your video) I always thought his was a great design and next to the Marauder corvette be my choice as personal craft. It maybe combat driven but it’s actually extremely well balanced and durable Honestly this should be the ship the mandalorian series give the main character as a replacement. Like he finds it damaged in an old imperial base but salvageable to fly and we see him bring back to glory

I've liked this ship ever since I read the thrawn trilogy as a kid. But I've wondered because I don't remember, does it have any interior space for a crew or storage? I guess I'm more just interested in whether or not it would make a cool or sensible "home in space" personal ship, a la the Falcon or Ghost.

wont have as much internal space as the falcon or ghost as they are freighters, this ship has enough room for 1 months worth of supplies and 4 crew but even then it wasn't that spacious

I saw a schematic that showed the Skipray having bunks. So home in space would be cramped but possible.

The skip Ray blast boat is more of a system patrol craft. The tie defender and b-wing are design for completely separate rolls.

Flying with the wing up makes the turret less useful. The Empire still uses a lot of them they were just rejected for the general starfighter role.

@@StarWarsLore1138 FOC's balance is a little weird. Lack of particle shields messes things up, hence some mods removing shield pierce entirely.
