0:38 I worked on these. Nobody I worked with during that time called it a "Super Huey." We called it Yankee, Yankee Huey, Venom, or 4 blade Huey. That probably has to do with the previous AH-1W being called a Super Cobra and not wanting any name confusion within the Marine Corps.

I was a hydraulic mech on the N huey, and also on the J, T, & W Cobra. I sure miss these girls. I was with HMA-269 80-85 (parent sqdn) then with HMLA-369. 85-90. Then joined the Ky guards as a UH-60 hydraulics mech. Retired afrer 23 yrs.

Wow I did not know the Venum was that capable.Ty for the video.I wish more helicopter had like anti aircraft radar and could shoot anti air missile if need be.Would be a good platform to track and help destroy drones

I'm 62 years old when my Dad was Crewchief of UH-1 Hueys in the Army Reserve. What a great appreciation for the best platform, to upgrade to VENOM STATUS! (KISS)KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID is why B-52, A-10, and F-15 has been upgraded to match the volume of any other Militarys out there. The 5th Generation Stealth aircraft has their own roles in Combat Preparedness Plans, and the proven platforms has proven status, and COMMON CORE development for FIT AND FUNCTION! F-14 was replaced by the F-18 because of Maintenance Cost and time per hour of Flight. There's many opportunities for the mothballed Carriers and submarines to be retrofitted to the newer support Marine Corp ASSAULT carriers if another Pearl Harbor attack took place. CCP CHINA has been building for a FIGHT, and they're not an ISLAND NATION like Japan was. Japan didn't have Natural Resources (Volcanic Rock formation) and needed rubber from Burma, and oil for fuel. CCP CHINA has Billions of people, and has acquired manufacturing processes from American Corporations and TREASONOUS POLITICIANS.

It’s not a bad helicopter, it wears out a lot faster than the November. The biggest issue is the blades are composite and hollow where they meet the yoke. This results in the blades developing micro fissures and water mixed with dust infiltrating into those cracks and throwing the balance off. Eventually you are stuck constantly downing the bastard after every other flight for rebalancing because it constantly monitors and narcs on itself.
