Also, pelple have already constantly seen the President's face for the 4 years before the election, while most challengers haven't had THAT much attention. And the more you see a person, the more you trust and like them. Plus, the President can point to the things he's already done, which everybody in the country has actually heard of. That is very different from some Governor pointing to what he has done in HIS state

Utkarsh Yadav your putting alot of faith in human judgment... More likely that their 4 years as president has made them more in touch with what the masses want to hear. (which is also not necessarily what they actually want)
