+ThatsSeren You're really not wrong. Her voice probably changed partially due to age, but smoking really does give you a different singing voice, for better or worse. I'm a musician,mostly a guitar player but occasional singer, and I don't smoke often, but even if I've had a few cigarettes before singing, I can already tell a difference in my voice, it's scratchier, and it actually makes you sound better in SOME songs, mostly bluesy type stuff, sort of like this song. Of course, I'm not encouraging smoking, just my experience.
