I think that this might have been the epic gig at the "Beautiful Balloon" club in Berlin., (overlooking the east). I was the promo organiser with EMI Overseas Promotion and I think we might have slipped in an appearance for "Beat Club" recorded in Hamburg during the visit. The same line-up did a fab "Baron Saturday" on French tv which is already on You Tube.

I saw this line-up in Hyde Park at one of the Free Concerts back in the day. They played this then. The Byrds 'Why'. Tomorrow did it too. The connection is Twink!
@kevinobrien12596 жыл бұрын
Me too I was at Hyde Park, they were very good, and Twink jumped off the speakers which were I think on the roof rack of a transit van to the left of the stage as you looked at it, great music and great acts and all for free, over a few Saturdays I saw the Nice, Fairport convention,. Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac, and various other bands, happy days.

TRANSLATION of the german COMMENTS in this film: The interviewer asked "Is 8 DMark not too much for an Underground Band?" Answer by the promoter: "Pretty Things got paid 4000 DMark - Ticket price was 8DMark but only few people seemed to pay. So we will have to find another location next time. BTW the Pretty Things are well-known and not an underground band"

Utterly Disagree with Paul Herring...the only Lp to match "S.F. Sorrow" was "CQ" by the Outsiders, whom, according to Paul, probably didn't have the music to match their image as well - he is probably a Beatles fan who cannot come to grips with the fact that they really weren't that rockin' or 'out there' compared to many of the other bands. Their popularity outweighed their actual talent.

Fair enough, Lord Maynard. Somehow they lost me when they turned form R& like the Rolling Stones and went into psychedelic music. All good.

As a fan of the Pretty Things in the 60s I look back and see they only had two worthwhile songs: "Don't Bring Me Down" and "Rosalyn". They had a very tinny sound and were wild fellows, but didn't have the talent to match their image.
