They changed the design of the bag to make it harder for contestants to "peek" at the disks, and they probably figured that was enough of a security. Also from this point until the mid-90s, Bob would often instruct the contestant to "not look at the number until you have it clear out of the bag".

This aired on my 11th birthday!!! Toni winning the Porsche definitely took the cake!!! Same with winning the money and showcase

Actually, 3 Strikes was NOT abandoned for rest of season 20, but 3 Strikes+ was (that is, they only played the game for 4-digit cars). Also, for the remainder of season 20, they used white disks for strikes to make it harder to differentiate between the strikes and the numbers.

If you think, Kathleen (from a TPIR taping in 1991), who'd won $16,000 all in cash + $25,643 in the showcase (giving her $42,695 in cash/prizes), exactly the following year on TPIR, Toni has amassed a lot better than Kathleen, who (in turn) won a car (Porsche) that is worth $45,789, then $11,000 cash on "The Big Wheel," + $21,806 in the showcase (giving her $79,845 in cash/prizes).

This happens all the time now it seems like. Contestants like Toni were rare at those times. She was a great contestant and made an already exciting game even more so.

Because now the contestants are coached to do so and if they don't appear "excited" enough they will re-shoot the reaction.

Upon observing the playing of Clock Game in this episode, I think she should've been given the second prize. My reasoning for that is simple: When she guessed $963 for the second item, Bob had said lower when he should've said higher. Not sure if that error was caught by any of the staff.

Mark Liotta She never said 963. In the 960s, her bids were 960, 961, 962, 967, 968, 969. Bob said lower when she got to 967. Her mistake was skipping from 962 to 967 instead of going up a dollar each time.
