NOTE: To eliminate confusion, this episode was recorded the 5 KPIX San Francisco affiliate, which was available on my C-Band Satellite at the time when I living in West Texas. I would only do that if KFDA Channel 10's station had weather bumpers which would ruin the whole thing for me, or bad recordings!

Yes, back on Wednesday, June 3, 1998, "The Price Is Right" game show had [future-late] Mr. Bob Barker(who's real 1st name's Robert) as its previous host just as his former studio announcer there was late Mr. Robert "Rod" R. Roddy!

Up until I knew that Rod Roddy was really Robert Ray Roddy, I was unaware that there were actually two Roberts (both now gone) working that 11 A.M.-noon shift on CBS-- Robert William "Bob" Barker and Robert Ray "Rod" Roddy.

Sadly Nicole thorenson/Barrington/Thornborough/ didn't win her showcase but at least she was called on down and won her way up on stage to play her pricing game and finally made it to the showcase

Well, she wasn't too far off, with her bid, on her showcase, but her opponent was deeply close with hers, especially on a bid that was often common, during the mid-late 90s (though we were at the point where no more showcases were under $10,000 anymore) showcases. But on the other hand, she had a lot of fun on the show, "whatever her name was", according to Barker, himself.

another frustrating spelling bee contestant, you can guess 10 dollars above OR BELOW the product price to get another card and she says 10 bucks and then 12 bucks. like the video was $0 and the photo album was $2??? so annoying!!! she lost the car right there.

0:00 is a brief intro to “Blockbusters” with Bill Cullen was a surprise. 1:40 has one of the most confusing moments in “Price Is Right” history where Nicole Thorenson wasn’t there, and Rod wasn’t able to look for Nicole. That never happened back around 1976 when Patricia Bernard was suppose to come on down, and ended up in the bathroom, and then happened in 1984 where Johnny Olson couldn’t find Susan Derbeck. 10:22 is where Bob told Rod about what was going on while was searching for Nicole which was confusing.

When I asked a couple of days ago if you had this (June 3) and the June 4, 1998 episode, I forgot to mention that on June 4 that there was a memorable playing of Card Game where the contestant was hearing bad advice from the audience and told them something like "you do this to people all the time" which had Bob and the audience cracking up.

no, whenever there was incomplete recordings from KFDA or bad weather in Amarillo or tornado bumpers, he used a C-Band satellite as an alternative to pick up different affiliates that air the show, i know i asked him the same thing on the April 10th episode

This moment at 7:58 that he was trying to sneak at the last card in “Spelling Bee” and Bob was thanking Debbi for playing the game, but she doesn’t leave, but I guess Bob was just joking that a contestant has not leaving to go to the “Showcase Showdown”, he decided to reveal the last card, and she got it. She won the money instead of the car, it has “A” instead of “C”, “R” and the word “Car”, and got 2 “C’s”.

After a long struggle of pronouncing her last name with hibernate that fact was she wanted to use her maiden name and married last name I suppose but anyway I'm glad she got called on down got up on stage to play her pricing game but lose at check out spun the wheel and finally made it to the showcase you rock Nicole Barrington wherever you are today
