Similar to Andre Iguodala, Klay deserves to do whatever he wants. As a Warrior fan that before the we believe era, we've seen the highs and lows of our dub nation and Klay got us 4 championships in 6 NBA finals. The man suffered an ACL injury, came back onto the court, shot his free throws and was still willing to play on that injury. Klay is at the tail end of his career and if he wants to get the full time starting gig or the maximum amount of money elsewhere, he has dub nation blessing. I would love for Klay to come back and retire as a Warrior but only if he takes a pay cut because we need to start thinking about upgrading our team to not only go back into the playoffs but get that 5th ring. Seeing Klay join the Knicks or even Dallas would be an exciting move because they need some elite shooters on that squad to support Brunson and Luka.

I think the biggest issue with Klay with the GSW right now is both salary space, as well as role in the team defensively. Offensively speaking, his numbers were lower, but still acceptable. I agree Defensively speaking, he cannot keep up with guards anymore, which is his default position. He can still defend fine against wing players as long as they are not too much taller. However, Warriors already has a lot of wing players so that puts him in a really awkward spot. Since the owner really wants to get under even the soft cap for salary I don't really see this working out, unfortunately.
