"Everything is for sale." "Make me an offer!" . . . the wonderful mantras of the prophet of Captive Market Capitalism (i.e. American Style Corporate Capitalism) echo pertinently on a crisp winter day in Denton, TX in the newborn hours of the great decisive 21st Century. Members of the hallowed Fast House look on and document the unfolding.
Fast House (on the day of The PriceMaster):
Dog Big
Eva Kasson
Nathan Austin
Nova Martin
Rick Perry
Ronnie Bass
Video edited by Horacio Jones.
A special thanks to Yulia Kantor for the video equipment!
And a very special thanks to Brett Johnson, David Ponder, Dr. Morgan Rutherford, Richie Budd, and Troy Jarnagin for all the inspiration over the years!!!

The price master is a relic from a forgotten time, he ran the first official bargain store in Sumeria thousands of years ago, living in the shadows, waiting, to bring again to the world otherworldly bargains!. $9000 dollars in sumner money was actually only a few dollars in todays currency.

When economists talk about the so called "invisible hand of the market", they are actually referring to the pricemaster. This rare video footage shows the entity in it's physical form. It has always been there since the dawn of time, controlling the prices from the shadows. Inflation is not the result of complex socio-economic-political matters, it is merely the will of the pricemaster. For the pricemaster has spoken.

9:20 you are five years old. Your parents take you to a garage sale. There is apparition with a sonorous voice. With it, the strange dread of something abnormal, you don't have the words to communicate how this unsettles you. A decade passes. You can still recall that strange voice, and the monstrous mask. As an adult with other experience to compare it to, the surreal garage sale seems more like a fever dream that got mixed in with real memories. It could not have been real.

For those interested in the very fine, flute music playing in the background to which PriceMaster is speaking. The artist is Won Jang-hyun, a renowned "daegum" flutist from South Korea. The daegum is a traditional Korean wooden flute, made from bamboo, widely used in folk music. The name of this particular piece is called "Daegeum Sanjo" which is from the album, The Sound Of Won Jang-hyun's Daegeum, "The Wings"" and was publicly released in 1998..

Pre-2011/2012, a great deal of the Internet was like this, too. Remember a site called “Crying While Eating?” We COULD get back to something like that, to an era like what we had from the late ‘50s through to the late ‘70s, and again from the late ‘80s through to the early ‘10s, when people were exploding with creativity, willing to get along with one another, and questioning capitalism and patriarchy while having a big party. I don’t know HOW we resuscitate that spirit, except I will say: during those periods, conservatism had been knocked back on its heels, whereas today it’s well-financed and on the rampage and consequently everyone is miserable … including the conservatives!!

As someone who goes op shopping, thrifting, garage saleing often this is, with no exaggeration, a slightly skewed but realistic depiction of said business practices. People who sell their goods constantly take the place of a benevolent, all knowing god with unfathomable wisdom and unwavering prices, going as far as to increase said price when provoked. This piece, while initially made for comedic effect is actually a surprisingly complex critique on the practices of garage saleing and the likes. However were price master and the common thrift shop owner differentiate is the fact price master really is an all knowing benevolent god and the customers on display for this video were fools for not purchasing the price masters gracious deals.

I want the Price Master to be an NPC in a future RPG. His shop will be full of average trinkets sold for exorbitant prices, but if you actually save up enough to buy any of his wares you find that they are the most powerful items in the game.

Good idea, but if you get the money and try buying, the price master raises the price by the next decimal and so on every time.
