This series really does not kick off until more than halfway through book 2. Book 1 and 2 are an introduction and they are a bit of a slog but by book 3 it skyrockets in enjoyment and quality.

This series was already on my radar but I'm glad you reviewed it. It helped to spur me to go ahead and try it out even though it is an ongoing series. Now that I just finished all of this series that is available I agree that this is a great system apocalypse LitRPG series. I might like Defiance of the Fall a little more but this one was great too.

Highly recommend this book series, as a LitRPG this one is generally more fun to read although there is quite a bit of swearing during the books. Zogarth is a energetic and light fun writer who adds lots of jokes into his writing, it doesn't feel like the story is rushed or the characters gain power more quickly than they should in my opinion. There are actual challenges that are interesting and fun during the story and all in all it is above average for the genre.

This a good series. If you are really looking to be impressed by a LitRPG Try: Portal to Nova Roma by J.R. Mathews. Amazing premise, creativity & writing.
