Old video but still want to say thanks for sharing. You guys should add a golden age sub mariner to your collection.

Also guys John Byrne's run implied that if he stay out of water to long he becomes insane.

Never collected Namor's run back in the day even though I was collecting then. He always would piss off Reed when he would go after Sue. I was trying to recall if Richard's made that suit for him so he could retain his powers above water for longer periods. I do remember collecting issues of Supervillain Team-Up where he was with Dr. Doom though. I always found him more interesting and better character-driven than Aquaman.

Yeah my fav character! Just a FYI, Namor's first app was in MOTION PICTURE FUNNIES WEEKLEY April 1939 a month before Batman how cool is that. He is Marvel's first super hero ( sorry Human Torch NOT!!! ;) he is the first character to fly ( Superman just leaped over buildings at the time ) first anti hero -first mutant -first character to have a super battle with another hero in comics ( again Torch ) and saved Steve Rogers from suspended animation. Also the ladies love him....pretty kick ass

I was hoping to hear a "Submareener" from Wild Bill... Submariner number 72, home to Marvel Value Stamp # 100 Galactus!!!
@richbrout163 жыл бұрын
Unless I'm wrong that Sub-Mariner #1 is $900. Would love a video of the stories on some of these more expensive acquisitions ie what it costs you, where you got it etc. Great video and incredible art.

On #31 is that Attuma in the background? Then on #33 is his cousin Byrrah. It was always a little weird that Dorma (another of Namor's cousins) and him were a thing.

Wild Bill and Pete: Thank you for sharing your Sub-Mariner collection. What are your thoughts on the Sub-Mariner in the Wakanda Forever movie? I thought they did a great job. Normally don't like changes but changing Namor's ancestry to the Mayan Aztecs was a nice touch. By doing that they added a myth into his character, K'uk'ulkan.
@seaoftranquilityprog Жыл бұрын
I wasn't crazy about it to be honest. To me, Namor felt pretty marginalized in the Wakanda film. Not only did he not seem as powerful, but the arrogance and pride of Namor in the comics seemed to be missing. I was fine with the underwater Mayan race thing as opposed to using Atlantis, but he just didn't feel like Namor to me. Glad they gave him the ankle wings though!

the last issue of submariner 72 and the last issue of aquaman 56 (but the numbering was resumed later on) and a story in a warren publication were all written by the same guy and they form one continuous story.
this brings in warren comics's eerie www.cbr.com/aquaman-namor-eerie-steve-skeates-final-issue/

I don’t get what happened to comic book covers in the late ‘70s and 1980s. The covers became way too complex with too much detail and too many characters. The Namor covers were classic examples of when Marvel got it just right, often with a simple background so the principal combatants really stand out.
