The coolest part is that Ofra Haza actually sings 17 out of the 21 languages that this was translated into! She only opted out of the East/Southeast Asian languages! She was such a talented woman - may she rest in peace. G-D would surely smile on someone who touched so many with something a simple as a song...

Itamar Shefi​ No, she isn't for sure. Ofra Haza performed Yocheved in Br.Portuguese, Castilian, Czech, Dutch, Eu.Portuguese, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, L.Spanish, Norwegian, Polish, Slovak, Swedish. She didn't perform any Asian language

The chinese subtitles for the CD I owned were the most well translated I have ever seen in my life. I only appreciated this movie late in my life ... But I'm glad I did anyway.

I was expecting this to be terrible. It's actually very well performed, and the Chinese singer is much stronger then the Japanese one. The choir singing this could probably relate more (The Great wall of China). The translation to Chinese is not bad either. Thanks for putting this up.

@@barbaro267 Vibrato is beautiful, and the irony here is that Ofra herself used a lot of vibrato. ;) Anyway, Ofra Haza is my favorite singer and will always be the best in my eyes, but this version is beautiful too. I'm impressed with how well this lady is able to replicate Ofra's sound.

Well, I'm just guessing. Did you guys noticed that the voice changed a little at 4:08 ? I was thinking that maybe the Chinese singer (who sounds like Orfa) sang the part with lyrics, and they edited it and the voice from 4:08 was Orfa's. However, a great song!

If you mean 主, it also means leader. The word has multiple meaning.

It doesn't exist, sadly. Probably because of religious concerns in countries where producers suspected that the Muslim population would be offended by the portrayal of a prophet, or just wouldn't go see the movie. Indonesia and the Maldives banned the film for this reason, so perhaps producers decided that it wasn't worth it to create an Arabic version.

As a mainland Chinese, my opinion is: the Taiwanese accent is always so feminine (at least for the recent few decades, I don't know why, no offence). Therefore, the mother's voice is perfect, full of emotion, love, sorrow, desperation and all. However, the choir sounds very nerdy, like a bunch of polished college boys, no depth, no pain, nothing at all.

and as a taiwanese, I agree about the part of our accent being feminine. don't worry ,its not offensive. I have to justify for the choir part however. I don't know why , but the female chorus is dominant compared to other version.they put emphasis on the higher note, and the lower notes sound pretty weak, thus make the whole choir lack the depth of other version.
