The "Courage to believe in others" is such a real thing man... Sometimes we let our past trauma and bad experiences prevent us from trusting people that most of the time have nothing to do with our suffering. Boji suffered so much that it's totally understandable for him to doubt anyone, but it takes real strength to go past everything that happened and believe in people.

@@viennasavage9110 I mean the only person we’ve seen her attempt to execute was Hokuro when he told her Boji was killed “under his watch,” which is definitely unreasonable, but it’s a little deeper than just executing innocents without batting an eye. The only other time I would think you would be referring to is when we’re first introduced to her, but based on that interaction it doesn’t seem like she actually intended to execute that soldier.

@@viennasavage9110 well I’m just going off how it went down. When she says “off with his head”, no one took action. Once she said it, she and the people around her continued walking, and the soldiers continued on their post. The whole thing seemed like an attempt at a comedic display of her ego to further help misdirect the audience on her character. It was probably one of those moments where she has an outburst without actually meaning it, similar to when she directed her frustration at that maid when she failed to get through to Boji, but immediately apologize when she started crying. I can’t confirm, but it wouldn’t make sense for her to go that far from what we’re shown later on with her being compassionate in spite of her ego.

I completely agree with you, in episode 8, when bosse is making the deal with the demon and the demon asks him to give up his life in exchange for power, he responded with: “I never intended to live that long in the first in the first place.” So this whole idea of him resurrecting was probably not his idea

Bosse knew all about Miranjo and her plan when he gifted the Mirror to Daida. Plus, his solemn "I've sacrificed another son." line when he got revived does express regret but also overtly shows he did exactly what he wanted to. Still now, as the anime's currently airing, the only thing stopping Bosse is his devotion to Miranjo

It's not explicitly stated but Bosse had no plans on being revived. He picked Boji to be King because he's the oldest and he reminds Bosse of the first Queen.

Then why did he say "and now I have betrayed another of my sons" if he didn't have any say in this happening? It definitely seems like he knew this would happen, and takes responsibility for doing it intentionally. Bosse is in a complicated position, that's for sure, but he's totally culpable for being on-board with this plan. Maybe he has an ulterior motive for going along with Miranjo's plan, but he is still doing it.

The thing about a rapier is you don't need to be super-strong to wield it or even kill someone with it. A stab to the chest with a long, thin, sharp piece of steel is still a stab to the chest. Like with Arya Stark from Game of Thrones.

You actually do need pretty decent strength to use an actual Rapier given it weights pretty much the same as a Longsword or sometimes more, in Bojji's case it is closer to a fencing foil so it is actually light weight

Its not a good sword but its as good of a weapon as possible given his limited strength. The thing about actual swords and other melee weapons is that they all weigh about the same because thats what it takes to hurt people. Weight adds to the force and thus the ability to cut and stab. Boji's weapon is just VERY sharp so it needs little strength.

Rapier makes sense tho. Cuz, it essentially gives him better reach than a short sword and dagger, and the weight is not gonna bother him. Plus, it compliments his speed. Rapier is instantly an extremely lethal weapon. You can reach weak spots even through the gaps of heavy armor and deliver a fatal strike from a good distance. He doesn't need to parry, cuz his Evasion is literally 100%. 😭 I'm gonna cry! It feels like he's mah boi. I'm so proud!

If you really think about it, most forms of martial arts or weapons training is basically a way of weaponizing regular anatomy, physiology and body mechanics. If you can take advantage of the different ways that the body can easily be hurt, broken, take a hit and naturally move, you can essentially take anyone on. As the saying goes, polished technique beats strength every time.

Almost every time. Fact of life is that overwhelming power always wins. You can only bridge so much of a gap before it becomes impossible. Like batman trying to fist fight superman. In real life its less extreme but you will won't see a 3ft person beating a 7ft one without a gun. Once everyone has mech suits it won't matter of course.

@@Merilirem Three things. One you feel a little detached from reality mentioning mech suits. Two most of the time 3ft would mean a child against an adult so that's not really a fair fight already. That fight would never happen because that child would be approximately 2 years old. Now assuming it's a person of average height against a really tall person then while the taller person has more of a chance to win that is only the case if you look at the average person. If the shorter person is actually trained then he can definitely best the other person. Especially so if he uses the environment to his advantage. third overwhelming power only wins when the other person doesn't have a counter. You will never see a strength difference anywhere near close to Superman and Batman especially since that kind of strength isn't possible with the things Superman does. Let's say that someone was that strong then he would be enormous and not humanlike combined with the fact that he would be falling through the ground with the amount of weight he has even if none of that happened that person still wouldn't be able to pick up a bus since the amount of force that is needed for that would break the bus.

I've been saying for a long time that Miranjo isn't a villain, just like everything else in this show that misdirects us. People were convinced she was bad but it's clear there is a lot more going on in the story than simplistic good vs. bad. Not sure why people haven't caught on that we can't trust our initial impressions and follow conventional tropes. The only thing I"m certain about is KAGE DA REAL MVP and Bojji is the one true king!

I half expect the demon to have a sympathetic backstory too (and I'm terrified Kage will betray Bojji at some point just because it is so unexpected and that is what this show keeps throwing at us, totally unexpected stuff). I hear you about Kage and think it's great you want to be in somebody's corner like that. I like Bojji and think he's cute, but Kage is my fav character by far. Ever since hearing his heartbreaking cry (when he saw his dead mom) and witnessing his backstory, I love that little shadow pancake boi and want to see his wishes and dreams come true. Was so stoked to see how Ep18 ended. Can't wait to see their reactions to it. They will be forced to admit, KAGE DA REAL MVP! ;D

Rapiers and dueling swords are pretty effective and dangerous, not everyone is wearing plate armor. In my home country, street gangs would prefer carrying around Icepicks for weapons because it's easy to hide, easy to use and has a very high mortality rate due to induced embolism/internal bleeding when stabbed by it.
