What I think is that all the bandits in Day Z are the escaped prisoners and all the hero's are guards from the island and because they were on the island the infection didn't spread there but food ran low the they used any boats they could to get to the mainland.

Just going to point out a little fact to people who don't like banditry/PvP. Why do people get better loot? To kill players. It sure isn't to kill zombies because you can easily do that with an axe. And to survive? All you need is a water fountain and garden. Sorted.

I surrendered once but I unpinned my frag first. If I surrender I surrender with the bang haha. You should have heared their cry 'ooh my gear bo ho boo' lol. I have 4 game copies, 3 for storing stuff and one for playing so 15 minutes later, me again fully geared chasing ex bandits along the coast lol. In the end they've logged out from the server so hopefully they got their lesson and they won't be taking prisoners again haha
