I always thought that this is the episode that puts paid to any notion that No.6 is John Drake. Some people believe that references to Danger Man in The Girl Who was Death prove that the two characters are one in the same. They seem to overlook the fact that No.6 is reading this story from 'The Village Story Book' to some children. This book obviously symbolises fiction. If he was telling a true story (obviously with embellishments) he would be telling it off the top of his head. Patrick McGoohan didn't give No.6 a name because he wanted everybody to identify with him. We are all No.6.
