Congratulations on 3 years. You got such an amazing horse that people would kill to have. You have done an amazing job with him. We have all said I quit I can't do this but then we get on and say why did I ever want to quit. This is how me and my pony are. People make fun of me cuz I'm 13 and still ride a pony. I don't care. I wish you well in the future. Just a tip, never give up and Milo will never give up on you. Now who put the onions out.

Hoof Harted I'm about 5.6 and I ride a horse that's BARELY a horse, I normally don't ride anything over 15,3 but I'm looking into sharing a freaking giant soon 😂 I'm kinda scared
@beckatanner1786
@beckatanner1786 7 жыл бұрын
Hoof Harted I'm 5'8 and I ride a 14hh pony. I don't have my own horse so this is why I ride such a 'small' horse. it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, it's about what you think. Haters are going to hate. I'm 13 also, but I ride a pony. There is a girl at my school who is also 13 and the same height and show jumps 13-14.2hh horses. I also still have not found who put the onions out.
@kadenlake2087
@kadenlake2087 6 жыл бұрын
Hoof Harted no matter the size of your horse, if you are a skilled rider and a kind horseman you'll do fine. I'm raising a filly at the moment and she's 8 months old now. Vet predicts she'll barely break 15hh. As long as carrying me doesn't hurt her, and as long as carrying you doesn't hurt your horse, it doesn't matter if you look a little awkward.

Thank you Shelby for starting my day on such a positive note. I wouldn't have watched it but my grandson's name is Milo and I was curious how the equine version would compare to the 7 year old human one. They have very similar energy levels and if my Milo could buck I know he would. I'm sure you get much less potty mouth from your Milo. Seriously, Milo the horse won the lottery when you got him. I can't imagine too many people would be as patient and kind with him as you have been. I loved it when you spoke of how his antics had improved your seat. Now that's positive thinking! The two of you look fantastic together and it's great to see you riding without a bit so much of the time. I look forward to seeing more of the two of you.

So very glad you took the time with him. So many people "rush & ruin" horses because they have no patience & show anger. Such a waste. Milo, your "horse of a life-time" - is just that because you took the time with him. Happy for both of you. It was great that your Mom stepped in early on when you were becoming a bit frazzled with him. For people without that help, try taking your horse for a walk & a graze with grass they don't usually have access to. No pressure, just bonding.

So many auction and rescue horses are labeled as wild, unrideable, vicious and dangerous. This is because of their past with abuse and neglect and no one can blame any animal for not trusting if they have been abused. But the beautiful thing about these horses is that when they learn to trust and learn that they can finally feel safe. Their spirit comes bounding out and they come to life. Maybe healing a damaged horse can heal us people

So cute!! I’m going to start leasing my boy named Jack! I’m not exactly sure how old he is, but I suspect 8-10 years old. He’s a definite problem horse. He hates water, rears, gets frustrated easily, and overall he’s just not very trusting of people or even me yet. His owner sucks and never really comes out to see him. But I love riding him and spending time with him. Every time I see him my heart swells. I can’t wait to lease him...

Never really watched a horse video before. Always thought they were kind of a big dog from a perspective of similarities. I can tell by his first few pictures that he was terribly treated, and from his level of distrust and overall fear, probably taken from his mother at a young age. His mother probably didn't trust humans either, and Milo probably didn't have any further bonding experiences after that. He seemed malnurished for a two year old, when I imagine he was about to start his teen years. From my laymen's perspective he seems to have trouble putting weight on? The end of the video shows Milo nuzzling you from a laying position, which was very touching to see. He obviously thinks the world of you to be that gentle. I know that it takes a lot of time effort and money to look after horses, and not that many people do that anymore. Only a very small percentage of individuals have the knowledge, patience, and the magic to train horses. You have obviously gained a tremendous amount of knowledge from working with this difficult horse, and I feel certain that you saved his life by adopting him. It's no small feat ! In the process you've made a middle aged soundman and professional stagehand curious about horses, which is also, no small feat...

Read ride Learn , thank you for your gracious comment. I find myself looking at animal videos quite a bit in the private moments I have from time to time. It helps heal my broken heart a little at a time for my dog Maggie that I lost a few years back. But really I want young people like Shelby Dennis to know what she does is important, and that if you can make a difference in life, you've done very well. In the end I don't think being famous or being rich will be worth anything in the existence of our universe, but helping others might just be what we need to do, to be remembered as a good species amoung the other beings in exsistence. Have a wonderful life Read ride Learn !

What an amazing job you have done! Reminds me of me and my boy. He will keep learning and get braver yet don't worry. My boy was a nightmare to he's just turned 9 and he's jumping 1'05m and doesn't look at anything anymore

Milo came such a long way because of the amazing person YOU are! You are love in action, and modest besides. You persevered where many would not have. and you very possibly saved Milo's life.
