Aesthetic has a place. Photo shoots, movies, music videos, paintings, tv shows, etc. Its cool to make works of art all visually fit together. But what’s so wrong with just having a personal style. When people say it about them, aesthetic basically means a combination of fashion and naturally good looks that the person has mistaken for a personality, lol. People will actually choose friends and partners based off of how they fit with your aesthetic.that’s limiting, boring, and shallow. To me, shallow is where you care so much about looks that you are no longer a decent person. It’s fine to think ‘this person is cute and I like their style,’ but if that’s a deciding factor on whether or not you are even friendly to them, your ‘aesthetic’ has done you no favors, because you look bad regardless of how you are dressed.

Oh my goodddd you just made me question my life HAHAHA I have spent the last 3 years worrying about my aesthetic and stressing about how I want people to see me and in what aesthetic I want to live in and now aesthetic my life should be and now you just made me realise how toxic it iss! I mean having a little like aesthetic u like is fun if you wanna have like a more "interesting" life haha but not to the point where u base ur whole personality off of and where thats all you worry about. I think the reason why we try to identify ourselves with a certain aesthetic is because we want to make a good impression on people especially people we meet for the first time. We try to be the best aesthetic for example elegant or whatever and want them to like us and not want them to have the first impression of a e.g. Sporty and comfortable Person with hoodie or whatever, I dont know if that makes sense but u get it a little bit?

You are so right there is so much more into us than just this one aesthetic. Sometimes I love to dress up elegant, I like to wear a simple summer dress and feel like a fairy, I love to wear my sweatpants, a hoodie and to go to the grocery store at night, I love wearing black, but sometimes I like color bombs 🎉

6:13 Omg this is so true as hell, I see this even on high fashion instagram and all the influencers look the same, the same earrings, same hair, same bag, same shoes, there's not really much individuality, there's not really any sentimental jewelry they wear like their mom or grandma's ring or whatever, no clothing that takes inspo from their fave movie or tv show or they don't really show who they're inspired by from their clothing, it's all the same!! And the ones who do have individuality are pretty rare to find, I feel like that's why for fashion inspo, it's much better for me to watch videos titled "Stockholm or Tokyo street style" since it shows actual people (no influencers) walking on the street in their daily lives instead of a curated image. I'm not hating on any of the influencers who are trendy instead of individualistic though, I just wish they'd be less scared and more bold on showing who they are.
