Quality > Quantity. The less you make, the better you work on what you make. If you put out 4 films in a year, you'll be exhausted and your lack of effort will be visible on the screen, the characters you're playing will start to feel similar. On the other hand, making 1 film a year and bringing change in personality of the lead character in every film will make the character memorable

Agree with all of your points. His frequency of movies is his biggest problem. Another big problem is that Akshay has stopped working with other great actors and big names. He has become a bit self-centered, with his movies only focussing on him in the limelight, while the other actors are just there to fill up space. You look at his most successful movies (Hera Pheri, Bhool Bhulaiya, Welcome, Bhagam Bhag, Jaan-E-Mann), he worked with great directors and great actors such as Paresh Rawal, Suneil Shetty, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, Govinda, Vidya Balan and they all came together to make a great movie, allowing him to shine in his role too. Also, he is just playing Akshay Kumar in all of his movies, rather than playing a character and the role, something he used to do so well when he was successful. We used to see him in different roles, but now he just plays the preachy, indestructible, patriotic Akshay Kumar in all of his movies. You feel like ki uski sab movies are the same, so his movies don't excite the audiences anymore.

He has seen worse than this in his career. He is the one who has strong mind. He should avoid doing social experiment movie like Raksha Bandhan, PRC, Laxmi. The last time I saw Akshay doing comedy was in Good News😢 Also he did a film like 2.0 which had great character depth. Nowadays he is just busy romancing girls his daughter’s age. Also the topic of patriotism isn’t essentially bad however when such themes are forced down to the audience to the point that it just sounds preachy and poorly made, then it becomes a problem.

Very well-made video, from one true AK fan to another. I would love for you to add one point here, which I have been noticing since Sajid Khan told the world about Akki during the making of Heyy Baby, and it connects with Point No. 2 in your video. Akshay Kumar reads his lines from a prompter in every scene. He does not memorise and act (like what he is supposed to do). These days, all his speaking shots are close-ups, taken from an angle behind the character he is talking with, and you can see his eyes reading the lines. He is not even looking at the actor to whom he is talking (that's why the shot is taken from behind the character/actor standing in front of him) to give us the illusion that he is looking at the person and delivering his lines like a professional actor - Lack of Effort - as very well pointed out by you, has never been more apparent. All his movies in the last few years have been plagued by this. I miss Akshay Kumar from Garam Masala, Desi Boyz, Bhagam Bhaag, Kambakkht Ishq, and so many more.

Very good analysis But one thing i feel Akshay Kumar was always like that .. If you closely look at his career you can see atleast 60 flops 1990-2020 in that phase So 2 flops per year.. he always used to give flops frequently but sometimes multi starrer 1-2 hits took his career this long Now after pandemic those 1-2 hits becomes more difficult.. And may be Akshay Kumar never coming back as solo lead

I am big akshay kumar fan and used to watch his all movies in theatre but i skipped his last 6 films (didn't watched on OTT as well) just because lack of dedication. He is not giving his 100% effort that's what I felt. In gold movie he tried bengali accent at the beginning but after that in whole movie he was just speaking normal hindi, he couldn't carry the character throughout the film, If there was Amir or ranveer instead of him then I am sure they would practice the language and could have pulled off the bengali character much better then Akshay. So that's the only reason I think that his biggest fan's like me felt that he is not giving justice to the characters he plays now a days and that's why people stopped watching his films. But i am sure he will bounce back in few years from now.

If You see the original malayalam movie Drishyam...directed by Jeethu Joseph The remakes were made to 1. Tamil- Kamal Hassan 2. Kannada 3. Telugu- Venkatesh 4. Hindi - Ajay Devgn International ones :- Offshore Chinese & Now In Korea too Bollywood today lacks original content a lot of actors try to survive and make their presence felt by remakes from South. Without biopics, without remakes the stars in Juhu, Andheri, Mumbai cannot survive. The only two notably two who has managed to be part of original content driven, content being King & Queen not stars.. The list today has - Nawazzudin Siddiqui - Sanjay Dutt - Vivek Oberoi They may play antagonists in south movies but their character has a life of its own, originality, box office gross collections 100 + crore in South films. Today 's bollywood has nothing to offer other than star 's survival gimmicks of star, star kids Remake Biopics. Political propaganda movies from Sangh, Dal camps who funds it. Downfall of comedy was the most logical reason given by you. Really Akshay has stopped doing an out and out comedy film now a days. No lead actor can do comedy better than him. Hera pheri, phir Hera pheri, Awara Pagal Deewana, Deewaane hue pagal, Mujhse shaadi krogi, Garam masala, bhagam bhaag, Hey baby, Bhool bhulaiya, Welcome, Singh is King, De Dana Dan, Khatta meetha, Housefull 1,2,3 and so many other films. AK is suffering and facing backslash because, the audience is much smarter now and wont fall any illogical dramas. - AK was self proclaimed selfmade star. - He been into multiple affairs in his early days to catch the limelight - Married to Superstar's daughter to survive in industry - He never worked to entertain his fans but to fulfil his own Greed. - The only thing he cared in his career is Money. - There are many stars who are kind enough to payback their fee if movie fails to perform, But he kept on torturing his producers financially. If one movie fails, he target another producer. - If you observe his interviews, He himself admitted how demanding he was. He signs the movie if they use international locations, complete fee while signing etc. - Big B, SRK, Mahesh babu - All superstar were envolved in promoting tobacco product. But they were straightforward. Unlike AK - He made enough money and then shared an applogy to gain sympathy. - The Canadian Citizenship was smoothly done. After facing blackslash. He started doing patriotic films to clean his image. The downfall was bound to happen. So does happened. You can never cheat your audience, the sooner he will realise this, the better he personality he will become.

Akshay has lost a lot of respect from people due to the fact that he hurt and betrayed great and much loved actresses in the 90s. He targeted working actresess and then told them he will only marry them if they quit their careers. He indeed chose Twinkle for the name that was behind her....Rajesh Khanna. A lot of people see him as an opportunistic and selfish person. They tried to clean up his image with clever PR but the public doesn't forget. He came on the show Aap ki Adaalat and boasted about being a ladies man. Just watch him on that show. He was rude and awful. These kind of things are off putting especially for women. All the factors that you have listed have contributed to his downfall. Some people say we shouldn't judge these actors on their personal lives but the fact is that they do get judged for their real life character and behaviour. That's just the way it is. He doesn't have a good reputation at all. I even prefer Salman because he didn't just marry like Akshay for opportunistic motives or to whitewash his womanising image. Akshay comes across as fake and pretentious.

The problem with Akshay is that he views it as a job and doesn’t consider it an art. It’s such a shame to see him ruining his stardom. If he did 2 movies per year and really focused on the fine tuning the script and really got in to the character. People would turn up. But when you make 4 average movies per year. Who will go to watch them? Because they are expecting an average movie of you. He needs to seriously slow down. I know he’s probably already signed another 10 movies. Unfortunately he has to get ready for a string of another 10 flops. If I was a director now, I just wouldn’t cast him.

I don't have any problem watching him in 5 films a year. But I don't think now he's putting any effort in his movies or characters. There was a time when his characters felt real. Akshay’s downfall is down to his own greed. On average he allocates 45 to 60 days shooting for a single film and does multiple films in a year for money. Then you add TV shows to it. In doing this he puts quantity over quality, and his movies suffers.

We all love Akshay sir.. But to be honest he took his fans and audience for granted.. In greed of earning money he somewhere lost credibility and commitment towards his projects which is why his movies are not working in theatres. He should take some break and start fresh and bring back his old comic timing like between 2000s - 2010s.

bhaiya se sab tumhare logics hai.. public ko sidhe se ek baat chahiye ki film achhi ho... and AK ki ek image ban gayi hai ki wo har film me AK lagta hai na ki wo character jo ki onscreen wo play karta hai.... same thing is with Shahrukh but due to very huge fan following of SRK in india and outside as well, he keeps on managing come back repeatedly.

It's also about the times. In the 2000s, people didn't take movies so seriously, there were different genres and good jokes. Ab phone ne 15 sec ka atention span mein saare dad jokes dikha diye aur log har cheez ko twitter pe controversy fela dete hai...aur sab directors bhi soft aur aesthetic ban gaye toh filmon mein utna strength nahi hai jo audience ki attention dhang se rakh sake.

Akki sir ko samajhna padega that he is a legend so he should not do more than 2 films in a year, last vala reason sabse zyada correct h ki overvisibility ki vajah se hi log unhe dekhne nahi jaa rahe h or unki saal ki charo filmein damdar ho To bhi samajh aata h itni filmein krne ka reason, 4 me se 1/2 filmo me hi dam hota h. He is one of the most versatile actor of india unhone action,drama,thriller,comedy,romantic,etc har type ki filmein ki h or unki har type ki film achi chali bhi h. Ab bas akki sir ko 2/3 saal k liye gayab hojana chaiye fir ek damdaar quality film k sath bounceback krna chaiye.

Great presentation but I highly disagree that Akshay is a fading actor. If we focus so much on what audience wants, then an actor won't be able to flourish in his/her career. It's impossible to please everyone. Akshay Kumar is a brilliantly flourished and mature actor. SRK acts on screen, Akshay lives his life on Indian parda. I think I don't entire agree with last point about film frequency - because even Rajkumar Rao does a lot of films. It's not the star image that Akshay Kumar needs to correct. He just needs to change his acting style. Like how Amitabh Bachhan transitioned into more wholesome, diverse roles that also has gravity. Akshay should do roles that support the story rather than where is the hero and story revolves around him. LIke Srk in Dear Zindagi.

I'm agree to the fact that srk has also got some flop films in recent years but the efforts on every character made him unique but now Pathan has recovered all the lost image of him the film runned only cuz srk came back after so many years as the film was basic ! I think Akshay should also try this !
