Quick point I forgot to mention: Exclusivity isn't always bad. Games like Undertale and Shovel Knight have exclusive content for their different console releases. What's different about the exclusive content in these games is that it isn't anything more than an additional boss or some smaller extras. Because the content included in each version is so minor, there's a reason to get any particular version. However Eternity Edition introduces a whopping 16 new battles, as opposed to just one. Considering the amount included, the new well-known composers attached, the visible higher quality showcased in these fights, and the fact that the battles themselves are the biggest part of Everhood's gameplay, it makes the exclusivity of this content (again, in a release after the original) all the more apparent and disappointing to those who already own the game. It is a lot of high quality stuff locked behind buying the game a second time. Also, don't get used to videos like this. I really hate publishing something like this but I wanted to share my thoughts.

While still disappointing, I think Eternity Edition would be somewhat understandable *if* it comes to the Switch as well. Considering that the whole point of adding new, exclusive content, is to give console players something to replace downloadable custom levels. However, unfortunately, it seems Foreign Gnomes basically made a Sonic Origins esc purchase chart.

Honestly I'm so conflicted on this new version Everhood is one of my favourite indie games, and the soundtrack is fucking amazing, but locking 16 new tracks and fights behind buying the game again (and getting a console to play it on) is just unrealistic for a lot of people. If they'd announced the extra fights as paid DLC for the PC version it would've been a much easier pill to swallow. Personally, I think Everhood didn't NEED exclusive content to be worth it for console players, the game itself was already a bargain. I'm still looking forward to Everhood 2 though

Honestly I'm really sad that I wasn't able to play this version of the game as I don't have a console and from seeing gellot's hitless video I am crying right now those battles look fucking incredible and a massive step up from the original game in a lot of ways. That being said I don't think they would've been able to get a game like everhood onto consoles without that exclusive content that is the point in it being exclusive content to push hardware. Honestly I think the best solution if I were the devs is to just have a dlc be like 7$ on steam to buy these 16 battles, I guarantee no one would be mad and it would be way worth it.
