Although Sayulita is not exactly a hidden gem, we have really come to embrace the laidback atmosphere here. Sure it gets busy, but I think the lack of huge condo buildings, grocery stores, etc. really makes it feel like a pueblo/village compared to Bucerias or Vallarta. What other beach towns in Mexico do you think we'd like that are on the small (think village) side?

San Pancho is my fav ❤
@Xmaslightsallyear Жыл бұрын
San Pancho (San Francisco) is much cleaner, much greener, less chaotic, and less pretentiously hip. Also less brazen drug use. Also, almost all real estate titles in San Pancho were privatized (i.e. regularized) years ago. Few if any risky properties still with ejido papers. (Soy 25 year Nuevo Vallarta and Bucerias resident but now living in Playa del Carmen.)

Hard to answer depending on what your interests are within that small community. There are plenty of small beach towns that are “suburbs” of the bigger tourist areas giving you the benefits of both. Pie de la Cuesta is one of those small village feels just outside of Acapulco that I initially liked….as a tourist. As a resident, I prefer being closer to a grocery store where I can walk with my bag lady cart and not struggle with grocery bags on a bus. I have some fellow Mexico traveler friends that merely got on a bus and cruised down the Hwy 200, stopping where they liked. Found some hidden gems that nobody knows about that way. My suggestion is to get out your map and do some exploring until you find what feels like home to you. Can’t wait to see where you are going to travel to next :)

What a coincidence! It must be the algorithm, as I happened to watch a video earlier this morning from a solo female traveler who just moved to Sayulita. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it is near Vallarta. Seems like it has a nice small town vibe and beaches.

I found this regarding Cap'n Crunch not having his face shown in Mexico: Captain Crunch is not openly sold here in México, you can only get it at more exclusive supermarket as imported product. Since some years ago, it's required to put a sign on products with high levels of sugar, carbs, sodio, etc. Indicating the same It's also not allowed to put advertising targeted to minors in those products, so that's why the captain is hidden

Lol Mexico trying too hard to be woke lately. If they were serious about their health issues they would ban Coca Cola.
@aboch6628 Жыл бұрын
@@sleepybear7642 Yes, that’s exactly why! It’s obviously part of the marketing and I totally support its ban. Behind this campaign, or part of, is the fact that Mexico is the second country in the world with the highest levels of obesity, only after the USA, if I’m not mistaken, so they’re trying to mitigate this problem. They’ve also banned junk food being sold/fed to students in schools.

@@aboch6628 yeah Mexico is a pretty chunky looking country lol. Mexican cuisine alone is pretty fattening. Lots of grease. On top of that with American fast food brands in the country. So it gets both worlds

We were in Sayulita about 6 years ago. We had high expectations but we found the place to be overrated, expensive and really smelly. Have they fixed the sewage problem? It was actually stinky, not smelly. People were swimming in the Ocean not realizing a large sewage was only a hundred meters away from them. I hope they managed to sort it out.. I remember lots of people complained about being seriously sick after swimming in Sayulita back then

Seems a Michelada is a copy of a Canadian Caesar....that's OK but you gotta use "Mott's Clamato" A Caesar is a cocktail created and consumed primarily in Canada. It typically contains vodka, tomato juice and clam broth, hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce, and is served with ice in a large, celery salt-rimmed glass, typically garnished with a stalk of celery and wedge of lime.
