The problem is that he’s still champion. He’s super over, but in an era where there’s been one champ for over 400 days, finally there’s a new belt and people want to see it move around. I mean look who he’s fighting. Fin, Shinske, Drew. We’ve wanted to see all of these guys win. None of them did, he’s going to have a guaranteed nearly 10 month reign, in the middle of Roman’s 1000 day reign, Gunther’s 500 day reign, coming right after Bianca’s year long reign, and during Austin Theory’s 8 month reign. Heel Seth is obviously better, but I think he’s a great face champ as well. In a vacuum.

Yeah every one in a while a guy will lose it faster and every once in a while it’ll be 300+ days, but 3/4 men’s titles will have been held for 10 months or more…that’s completely absurd and to me does just as much if not more damage to the prestige.

My opinion, Seth's WHC is mainly overshadowed by Gunther's IC reign. Literally Gunther is the real definition of Raw's workhorse champion. Another annoying thing is that Seth is beating people we want to win the title lol.

Seth had a great babyface run as intercontinental champion. Everything he did from the moment Triple H turned on him and screwed him out of the universal title until he beat Brock Lesnar for such title was great. Turning face, the reconciliation with Reigns and Ambrose, the feuds with Owens and Jericho, with HHH, with the Miz, with Cesaro and Sheamus, all the Shield reunions... absolutely perfect. The problem is that when he's beem universal or World champiion he's faced guys like Bray Wyatt, Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura and Drew McIntyre, who the fans wanted to get their moment. The problem is the lack of really detestable heels that fans don't want to see as champions. There's nobody like 2010-2011 Miz or ,2012 and early 2013 CM Punk, like Seth himself in 2015 or Owens in 2016. Heels in WWE are cooler than babyfaces right now, with the exceptions of LA Knight, Cody Rhodes and now CM Punk. I think the feud with Punk will lead to Seth Rollins turning or at least teasing a heel turn.

I think Seth’s title reign could’ve worked better if he was booked better from the get-go and when Bálor and Nakamura eventually challenged they would’ve taken the title off of him. I thought that after the Nakamura feud WWE were going to go down the Orange Cassidy route and have Seth Rollins continue to fight despite injury but nobody brings up his back anymore outside of the occasional spot where Seth lands on his back

Hes slowly becoming an another Roman type of champion but with more defenses, this shows that even if Roman was more present nothing would change. Seth worked for me in 2015 when he had his first heel run, that was the only time i saw him as a champ but when that gimmick dropped, he went downhill. This new era with long term story telling has its pros but has some big cons which is that they waste a lot of talent and they build them up for nothing. We don't have that unexpected match result thing anymore since 2020 which is sad because when i was watching La Knight vs Roman, i predicted the whole match and i knew what will happen just by the way the camera was moving, they must find better ways to end matches and create fan speculations worth again. I hope WM40 this will be cleared and we can enjoy watching champions again.

Issue is there’s 2 championships. CM Punk in 2008 as WHC was meh too. I always felt having 2 World championship sabotages the other champions reign. More eyes is on one then the other. If Seth was only holding the WHC and that was the only belt. We would have a different opinion. I believe they need it retire one of the belts or merge them together. The brand split can still work with 1 belt floating. Time to spicy things up. It’s not Roman or Seth the problem. In fact Roman not being their creates draw. It’s beneficial for people to step up. A Full time Champion doesn’t need it be their every week. Every other week build towards a match defense every month or 2. Even if a champion makes more appearances. The title should only be defend when its meaningful and get pin when they lose it. Never on tv imo they should be pinned. Little things like that create a incredible champion. You’ll never catch stone cold getting pinned on raw as champion unless he’s losing the belt to kane or Kurt angle.

My problem with it is that the revealed the back thing too early because now everyone is just waiting for the back to give out, and dont care whether he wins anymore. It just makes people not care about the title because its being defended successfully by a broken superstar who needs to drop it, get better, and then come back for another run or maybe set his sights higher

Spot on! Also, he had like two open challenges before he started feuding on PLE’s. One with Balor, then Breakker. After that, he had no open challenges until recently with Sami and Jey. I don’t think this would’ve fixed this issue, but it’s doesn’t help when Gunther is putting on bangers on raw and Seth is apparently this ‘workhorse champion’ when he’s only defended it 4 times outside of PLE’s

The Punk promo last week had glimmers of Scumbag Seth from 2015 and I for one hope that the Drip God gimmick takes a backseat to a tried & true version of one of the biggest stars to ever be on a WWE roster..

Triple H should rebrand seth like who triple H was back in attitude era. Back in the day, triple H always become a heel champion and he was one of the best in doing it. Him and stephanie Mcmahon was so hated back then with feud with numerous babyface like the rock, stone cold and kurt angle, those time was the best time. And triple H should try it on seth and becky lynch. Made them the most hated heel couple in the company

He did such a great job that vince had the ending changed from roman finally beating seth in a title shot to taking a DQ loss to redeem himself as a heel.

I don’t think his title run has been lackluster at all, and I’ve been enjoying it too. I think it’s been a great first title run for bringing back the WHC. Yes I do think it would work better if he was heel (which he is turning heel) but I still think it’s been a great run. Great match after great match. Edit: also his best title defense is easily Finn vs Seth at Summerslam. Fantastic match, unfortunately WWE ruined the judgement downfall storyline after summerslam (in my opinion) by having Finn and Damian win the titles.

I’ve had several issues with Seth’s title reign. Now I’ll start off with some good to get it out of the way. He is great as an inaugural WHC it was really only him and AJ Styles who were viable people to hold onto the WHC because they haven’t been beaten by the current Tribal Chief. He has been putting on good matches against plenty of talent really showcasing and proving why he is deserving of World Champ. The crowd is behind him and it’s clearly not just for his song (which I find really annoying) but the crowd loves singing along and wanted Seth to be World champ since his last reign as champ was right before The Fiend. Now let’s go down the list as for reasons why I haven’t been so high in Rollins as WHC. 1. An open challenge workhorse champion works better for a Midcard championship. A World championship title match should feel special early on in his reign he was having so many title shots that all of the matches minus the one with Bron Breaker are just forgettable. Now take Orange Cassidy and Gunther, workhorse champions who constantly defend their titles and it still works. Even look back at John Cena’s US open challenge. They only really work as well because they are Midcard titles. Open challenges for World titles just dont work because it devalues the World title for just letting anyone challenge for it. 2. Most of his feuds haven’t much story going into them until we had Finn which honestly was his first proper World title feud 2 months into his reign. 3. They make most of the wrestling community minus the non-vocal majority turn on him for having him feud with people who fans have been wanting to be world champs. Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura, Drew McIntyre, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn and he beats them all clean minus Drew McIntyre because I think him beating Drew made sense in that match because Drew didn’t fully turn heel and it gave him more of a reason to turn heel, everyone else are worthy World Champions. 4. His reign has been too long, at the writing of this comment he’s been champion for 201 days. Now that’s a decent reign but the reason the belt was created now is because we have had a champion in Roman Reigns be champion for so long that we just needed someone who would be there and so there will be World Title changes which has not happened. I truly believe he should have either dropped the title to Finn or Shinsuke. Finn because it futures the Judgement Day break up and gives Damien a viable chance to cash in his briefcase as well as being the crowning moment for Finn so he can win a World title at Summerslam against the same opponent and actually have a run with the belt. Shinsuke for being believe enough as just destroying Seth and his weakness which Seth doesn’t sell enough which could further Seth sympathy for fighting with a broken back, but back in tracks Shinsuke was also someone who didn’t win at Wrestlemaina after winning the Rumble and had other chances to be a world champion but now there’s a new championship with a fresh linage which he could have been a great heel champion for. 5. His character work hasn’t been anything special. I honestly don’t know what his gimmick is suppose to be every since the Monday Night Messiah came to an end and he’s still been that character, wearing over the top clothing and having the crowd sing his song. He’s honestly due for a gimmick change and maybe this stuff with Punk could lead to that. I think they have been doing a good job at establishing a first champion but there’s so much prestige or importance you can give to a title if only 1 person has held that title. He should have dropped it max just 1 time during 2023 but here’s hoping they find a way to make us really by into WHC as important because it took them way too long to make the Universal title feel that way and it took a Tribal Chief to do that

The titles are supposed to move around. They moved around in the attitude era. They moved around in the Ruthless aggression era. Theyve almost given TOO much value in a strange way to these 3 titles. The longer the reign the more pressure for the "right" person to win it. Thats 3 divisions of challengers that have a 1 percent chance of actually winning a title until Wrestlemania.

The titles are not supposed to move around, especially not new ones. Triple H and Shawn Michaels feuded over the WHC for 2 years to give it prestige. The problem is not Rollins holding the title. Look at Roman. 3 years as champion and he's still the most in-demand wrestler on the planet and people are complaining that he's not on the show. Rollins can have a 10 year long title reign for all we care, but it has to be entertaining. Everything Roman does by himself or with the Bloodline is great and almost everything Rollins has done as champion so far has been boring.

All I see are the potential curveball and story angles(and potential stars) that get flushed down the toilet. Titles look good on established stars. Congratulations. We already knew that. But titles are also supposed to create new megastars. The one title that has been doing this is the IC title for Gunther. And that is why titles are supposed to move around. Just look at the attitude era. Even guys like the Rock and Stone cold only used titles for the boost in shine as long as they NEEDED it. How long did the Rock...one of the greatest of all time...how long did HE ever really need the belt? Even in his peak gimmick around 97-2000 he got the belt OFTEN but not for overly long periods of time.

1. He is outshined by Cody Rhodes, he wasn't even presented as the leader of Survivor series how most world champs are. 2. There's never been number one contender's matches for his title, people don't have to go through hoops to get it like they do the US title, IC title and even the NXT title, you have to make your title feel important by having people fight for the #1 contender's spot. 3. Seth always takes on challengers with little to no fuss so it seems like anybody can just ask for a shot, devaluing it in the process. 4. Seth between 2021 to 2023 Mania only had 2 PPV victories like he's looked so weak. 5. All the people he faces are long overdue for a title reign (Drew, Finn, Shinsuke) so you root for them. 6. It only felt like the center of attention during the tournament but after that they don't care vs Roman who's made even the UV title the biggest prize by having multiple people feud with him at once for it. A new title holder by mania would spice things up.

My thing is I don't really see Rollins as a true face in the traditional sense. If you notice, his character overall hasn't changed just the crowd's reaction. If they leaned more into his dubious morality, he'd certainly be more intriguing to those who don't find him so. I would have really liked them focusing on those he's wronged in the past (Finn, McIntyre, Cody, etc.)

One of the biggest problems of Seth’s title reign was in fact roman reigns. WWE in past was very much consistent on building up roman reigns as the ultimate boss so that other wrestlers went down the card. I think at this point HHH wants it on this way. So that when cody finishes the story he will be the ultimate face while on the other hand if punk get this title it will get elevated too. So then they can build up the world title with so many talent like gunther,sammy,jey,drew on raw. I think this is a good way to keep intact fans with wwe or otherwise they’ll get bored with a part time champ. Also it is a very good way to turn seth a reasonable heel too (now that punk is on wwe this has to happen). Seth can argue how he defended title everyday but still crowd didn’t support him. I think what HHH was tried here is to build up a title like john cena’s iconic us title run but the prob was that it was a mid card title and this way world heavyweight title also became a mid card title. But I’m fine with it because seth delivered very good stories and matches with it. They elevated nakamura, drew along and also jey uso with that last week match🔥. He would be one of the best champions right now coming out of beating the unstoppable Roman like he did Brock in 2015. I feel like WWE is faltering from both failure and success at the same time depending on which brand. Raw there are many overdue stars who've not been given main event pushes and title holds. And while Seth is great, it feels lackluster when he's accomplished so much already and snubs others who deserve the new belt. if we're looking at Smackdown, they have too many over superstars who could be main eventing over Roman at a more frequent pace. It doesn't help that the rosters are so top heavy and leaving other places (like the tag division and womans division in limbo)

I take a month away (minus the cm punk return) from the internet wrestling community to just enjoy the product. And right now it’s been the most entertaining since before covid easily and feels like it’s keeps getting better. Seth as a fighting champion is one of my favorite characters on the roster because it’s great to see a world champion fight at every plv or have a random match with jey uso (who I want to win a world title in 2024). He feels like a big star and real champion with a legit world title belt. Looking back people will remember this first title reign with this belt. Not every reign has to be the most historic ever, it just needs to be entertaining and connecting with the audience which Seth does every time he’s on tv

Congratulations on the success of this video. Seems to have blown up nicely for you. However while you make some good points I disagree with the overall sentiment of the video. To me the long title reigns WWE have booked have served the purpose of making the WWE champions feel more important than AEWs champions. By having their top talents have long reigns (excuse the pun) they have made their championships feel way more important Vs aew that now seem to have way too many championships and belts on their shows. (Personally I think that having AAA,NEW JAPAN,ROH titles on their shows watered down the importance of their own championships and fans started turning away because of it) Seth is still establishing the new Championship and it's a tall order for anyone but Seth is the man to do it. His promo last week with punk was perfect. I will agree though that Seth's first WWE championship run as a heel after his wreslemania cash in was awesome. Shame he got injured.

I think babyface champions are tough to book. If you think about it, you said that Seth has been booked against people who are hot and that’s a problem because fans are going to be more interested in the challenger. But if you book him against someone who’s not interesting, like Baron Corbin in 2019, people won’t like that either.

I'm a huge fan of Seth, even as a baby face champion, but I agree with you. They have done a good job at building up deserving contenders, and on the positive side, that shows the creative juices are flowing, making a lot of legitimate stars. The downside is that there are a lot of wasted moments. Almost like it's killing time. Seth is my favorite wrestler in the company right now, but CM Punk is my favorite of all time. I don't think that feud really needs the championship, but if they hold out until WrestleMania, I can only wonder how many more wasted opportunities there are. Even without CM Punk being on Raw, I still don't think that Seth is the top guy anyways. The way it has been set up, Cody, Jey, The Judgment Day and even Drew are the top stars of that brand. In my opinion, Seth doesn't need the title to be one of the best superstars in the world. I can only hope that the booking for the World Heavyweight Championship gets better, and that they improve Seth's title reign, but I've learned to just enjoy it while it's happening. Same way I did with CM Punk when he held the WWE Championship for 434 days. Not every day you get to see your guy with a top championship. That being said, great video my dude. Hopefully we can all just enjoy some wrestling. It'll always have it's highs, and lows, but at least the WWE seems to be trending in the right direction. The problem is the NEW WHC is that it's a sloppy seconds title, they should of waited to debut the WHC after Roman's defeat, and whoever that champion declaring that the Universal isn't a thing anymore and going back to 2 belts, one Heavyweight and one for the WWE keep it simple. This is probably is best reign since his 2015 world title run. This reign still does a lot of things that was better than the 2015 run. For starters the match quality is way better. Rollins legit injured Sting is one of his matches and faced Kane that was far after his prime.

Champion babyface Seth feels too contented, doesn't feel compelled about any of his close calls, and doesn't even sell the aftermath of his grueling matches. Super Cena split fans already, Super Seth just doesn't feel believable either. Give us clever ring psychology and not just babyfaces Hulking up outta nowhere.
